Problem with WebTV and a poll

Just wanted to let you know...

When I make my choice, then click the "VOTE" button, I get the following message from WebTV:

"There is no web page or other information available for the item chosen."

Maybe WebTV has a problem this morning - but I can't recall getting "that one," before.

FWIW - I have participated in "many" polls without incident in the past.

(Also - if it helps... I've tried this several times and, once, when I inadvertently neglected to make a choice - and hit the VOTE button - the standard response came up from the bulletin board telling me that I must first make a choice.)

Hi Beth,

My name is Ray Sharpton and I use a WebTV Plus. LisaTX just sent me a pm to check out your question.

First, it can be frustrating sometimes using a WebTV, but I like mine. I went to the link that you listed and I was able to vote for a DVC poll.

But that doesn't mean that you might have had a problem.

I also posted on the same thread. This time, I got a message that said that I don't have access to this page for one of three reasons. This happens every now and then. I just hit the back button and get the previous screen again. But this time, I got a another message that said that I could not send a post or message (or something) more frequently than 5 seconds. That was probably because I hit the back button and te the submit button so quickly.

So I just hit the back button again to get the previous page and then the submit button again and then my post was posted.

All I can say is if you get a message like web page doesn't exist, it could mean a lot of different frustrating things that relate to WebTV and not the site you are trying to reach.

Talking specifically about the DIS web site, I have found them to be the most WebTV friendly of any community.

Try that thread again and see if it works.

Also, if you ever get a screen that says that you dom't have access or that you need to log in, I either backspace and try again or go to the top of the screen and click on "user cp".

You'll also find out that you won't be able to here a lot of music that may be automactically on a post that others can unless they have a click-on button to hear them.

Also you won't be able to see videos.

And you can only do limited chat. Very, very slow.

I haven't tried it in the last day or so - but I've been on these boards with my WebTV unit since May, 1998 - and I've never gotten that error before - and I've voted in a LOT of polls.
I'll give it a try again this weekend....

Just an update - FWIW - I still can't vote in the polls via my WebTv (my DSL ISP at work is fine)

I tried again this morning. It no longer gives me the error it was giving me before - it just tries to send it - then times out and comes back to the thread.

BUT. Someone bumped up a really old poll on the DVC Board that Doc started - about which resorts you own - and I "was" able to vote in that one. It was created in 04/01. Maybe there was a software changes on the boards since then?
