Problem with colors in a sunrise print - any ideas?

I recently had an 8x10 printed of a favorite photo I took of a sunrise recently but the area right around the edge of the sun appears slightly greenish in the printed version (not on the digital version). Before I attempt to reprint it (with a different company) I want to check and see if there are any steps to take to ensure it doesn't happen again. Any ideas or suggestions?

depends if it is just a bad copy of a print from whomever you used, or wether it isa bigger problem. If another print fromt he same place does the same thing, then you should consider calibration of your monitor, and getting the color space info from the printer that you are using. (it is certainly not my specialty, so I am sure that others can suggest more). It is the reason why I mainly use a local printer, so if there is a problem I can have them print it right then and there. Consider just sending to a local place (like wal-mart) which they have one about every 15 miles or so now don't they?

It doesn't show up on my home monitor or work monitor - two different makes and ages - so I imagine it was just the printer. I certainly plan on giving it a try locally - we have a Ritz nearby that does decent prints... I avoid Wal-mart like the plague. :headache:

Can you post the image here, so we can look at it? It doesn't matter how many monitors you use, whether they're at home or at work. If they're not calibrated, they're not calibrated.

Sure...

I only print with labs that turn off all auto corrections.

All I have to say is wow!!! What did you do to capture that photo? It's amazing!

Thank you. :) Nothing really fancy:

1) Got out of bed really early on a holiday when I normally would sleep late :lmao:

2) Use a tripod

3) Used auto exposure compensation in 1/3 increments

4) Sit in chair behind the camera (and tripod) and enjoy while clicking away every few seconds as the sun comes up. In the hour or hour and a half we were there I took close to 700 shots (really almost 3 per final image due to the exposure comp). Toss out the poor exposures on the PC, touch up the ones that need slight tweaking... didn't really need to do anything fancy "in camera". (The posted photo is actually a straight out of the camera image, I think - no post procesing on that one that I remember.)

Any other ideas regarding the greenish tinting on the printed version anyone?
