Problem w/ ebay

Ok--I won an auction, the total shouldve been $21.85. However, the invoice I received from the seller was for $43.70 because the seller added charges. (I think somehow the amt due got duplicated twice) I emailed the seller on Tues and he responded late last night. (which I rec. today) and just said sorry, didnt know how it happened, but please pay through paypal. But paypal wont let me put in the amount that is actually due. I requested a new invoice but havent heard anything. My problem is, I won this auction at the beginning of the week-enough time to pay and have it shipped and at my house by the 16th. Now that we've hit this snag, it wont be there. What should I do?????

Check the auction for shipping. Many people charge alot for shipping and handling, which can go unnoticed when you are bidding.

I did all that--it was a 16.00 win and a 5.85 shipping---i reread every word of the auction and it didnt state anything--and the seller even said he didnt understand but never offered to fix--so i dont know how to pay for this when he wont send me a correct invoice.

Will he take a check or money order? If so, mail one to him. It might be faster than trying to correct the double-billing error.

To to MyEbay and items I've won. Then click on that item--and then click on "Pay Now". There is a box that says "seller's discounts or charges" --- enter the overcharge amount in that box with a "-" in front of the dollar amount, and then recalculate the total. (make sure you put the "minus / negative" symbol in front of the dollar amount so it will subtract from the total instead of add.)

That should do it for you
