Sunday 15th August
Well when we woke up it was still raining from last night and didn't seem to have eased any!!
We had a lovely breakfast at the Dream Castle including scrambled egg and bacon, and my mate enjoyed the pancakes that were on offer, so once suitably stuffed we headed to the park for about 10am.
First stop was for my mate to renew her AP, previous visits to the AP office have normally resulted in huge queues but we were quite surprised that we only had to wait about 5 mins to get her AP!! Whilst there we also asked if we could get admitted to the Dream AP preview of Toystoryland, we showed the lady all the various emails and paperwork I had had from Disney regarding the Soft Opening but no actual confirmation that we had been granted a ticket! The lady did take my AP away and we saw her phoning someone and talking and then she came back and said sorry but the event had been over subscribed and I was one of the unlucky ones to not be granted access! Not impressed I can tell you as one of the reasons for buying a Dream AP was the perk of soft openings!!
Once that was done we dashed over to ride BTM, our favourite ride and enjoyed a queue time of 20 mins! We couldn't work out the fast pass queue for the fast passes from the machines as it was huge and not moving very quick! Is this because of the way the new machines accept your ticket we wondered?
Next we went to go on Indiana Jones but whilst in the queue it went technical, so we left the queue after about 20 mins as we were not going to wait anymore!!
We then rode Pirates of the Caribbean - we love this ride as well - and managed to finally at last catch Captain Jack Sparrow as we came out! We've never yet seen him and he was rather dishy!!
By now it was just before 1pm and we had a lunch reservation for The steakhouse for 1.15pm, so we left the Park to have our lunch.
Have to say we were not impressed with our meal here, not sure if it was because we dined late but the only thing we liked was the champagne on arrival! Full report is in the restaurant thread.
Whilst eating in the steakhouse I thought I could see Bev and her family but wasn't sure and didn't want to make a fool of myself! Turns out it was them after all!!
It was still raining cats and dogs and because we were so wet from earlier we decided to head back to the hotel for a warm and change of clothes! We hadn't intended to have a nap but that is what happened once we stripped off and put dry clothes on!!
We headed back to the park for about 7pm and headed towards The Haunted Mansion where we noticed that it seemed really much more clearer than our last visit and we enjoyed it so much more seeing everything really clearly!
We couldn't help it as we had to walk past BTM to get to Indiana Jones and the queue time was still only 20 mins, so we jumped into the queue! We did have a bit of an arguement with some fellow visitors, when you first head under cover in the queue it splits into 2 lanes, either left or right, we always take the left lane as it seems much quicker and this time around there were hardly any people in the left lane so we kept walking past stationary people in the right lane. At one point we got pulled about by other visitors and eventully some English guys yelled to us to stop queue jumping! We were not queue jumping and they couldn't understand that they could have joined this queue if they had wanted to! Luckily a CM was cleaning bins at that time and came over to see what the problem was! It didn't take long after that for the left lane to start filling up!
Atfer we had done BTM we decided to wander through to Fantasyland and we walked straight onto Peter Pan - unheard of except maybe at 8am on an EMH morning, but we rode this twice with no queue! I think the rain had put alot of people off from staying late!
By now it was about 8.30 and we were very cold, wet and hungry! We couldn't decide what we wanted to eat so as we had bought some crackers from home and some other snacks we decided to head back to the hotel and have baths to warm us up, and then get changed into our PJ's and then eat our snacks!
As I closed the curtains of the room I looked out at the rain still falling and wondered if it would still be raining tomorrow!!
