PROBLEM SOLVED - Dec 1-2 - what is going on?

I'm an AP-holder staying on-site during late Nov/early Dec. I tried to swap a couple park passes tonight and saw that every single park was blocked for booking for APs on December 1 and 2...everything available on 11/30 and everything available on 12/3. So it begs the question: What in the world is going on for 12/1-12/2 that seemingly every AP in the world is descending on (all 4) parks?!

ETA: When looking at the "availability" calendar, it shows each of the 4 parks has availability. If I try to make a park reservation, it has the greyed-out "no" symbol.

UPDATE:
For some unknown reason, MDE has decided that three of my park days count on their AP w/ hotel calendar, while the other dozen don't. The issue I was having with those days was because MDE thought I had booked those days already.
However you can now "modify" a reservation instead of cancelling and re-reserving! It will show as 'limited availability' because you cannot book the park you already have a reservation for, but you can pick what you like - and switch back if you want, too!

I just made one for MK on the 1st. Cancelled it since I'm not actually going to be there, but it is possible to make them

If you're staying onsite, could the challenge be because you are trying to book as an AP? My understanding is that if you're staying onsite you do not need to book as an AP.

Did you cancel your existing reservations first? Whenever I’ve switched out park days, it’s shown up as unavailable on days I already have a pass for since you can’t reserve two parks on the same day. I wish they’d let us modify reservations like they do with dining because it is a little nerve-wracking during busier periods to be without a park pass for a minute.

You still need to book as an AP, it just doesn't count against the number of AP reservations. When trying to book, it gives the options for "Theme park tickets" or "AP." If you pick "theme park tickets," but don't have any linked to your account, it won't let you book more days (or at least wouldn't let me book them). If you pick "AP," then it gives the choice between "AP" and "With hotel reservations," so I picked the latter. On the page where you just view availability, I can click through each park and see that it's all available then...but if I try to book anything it shows as all unavailable.

Maybe, though I'm not sure why only those two days would show up as having park reservations when I have reservations the whole rest of my trip as well. Ah, Disney IT.
And I agree - it would be much better if we could modify them instead of having to cancel and wait for the agonizing couple minutes in fear that every park res will be snatched up!
