Our September trip will probably be my wife and I's only adult trip pre-kids. We both fully intend on acting like 2 big kids, but are there any activities that shouldn't be missed on an adults only trip? Or just any other cool/romantic/whatever ideas that will add to the magic for a couple still madly in love?

One of the romantic ideas I had was a sunset dinner at California Grill. Also my wife loves dolphins and always wanted to swim with one so I booked Discovery Cove.. not Disney I know but she can't wait. We are still considering the Segway tour, but it seems a bit expensive and Discovery Cove drained the budget a bit ;)

Thanks for any input!

we are in the same boat.. probably our only pre-kid trip to disney.. or anywhere! lol hopefully. But, we are wondering the same thing! We are going in July.

might change the sunset to 'wishes' time at Cal gril.

it is expensive - but maybe you can do with others

firework cruise.

go over the theme park board and look at the 'sticky'.

WDW has dolphins too.

I see you are considering the Segway Tour...DH and I did the Around the World one at Epcot on our wedding trip two years ago. It was AWESOME! There are discounts (I think 15%) if you have AAA, a Disney Visa, or an AP. It was well worth the cost.

Hi there... enjoy your trip. We are going before Christmas on what we HOPE will be our last visit without kids...
We will be doing ALL the big rides as many times as possible - especially Expedition Everest!
The other big thing that I LOVE when we go to WDW is going to the Comedy club in Downtown Disney. I love this improvised comedy, and we have to go on every visit. Do it while you don't have kids as it's going to be much more tricky when you have them!
Also make sure you enjoy getting autographs etc from the characters this trip, as it will be cute and fun, but in a different way, once you have kids!
Oh I'm so excited for you, taking your first trip! Yey!:yay:

My husband and I will be doing the same thing. This is one of the things we wanted to do before we have kids. We plan on being big kids!!! Plus we will be there for my birthday. Anyone have any birthday ideas? We will be there June 30-July 4.

If you enjoy an adult beverage of two, do the around the world tour at EPCOT.

Also, there are several restaurants that make good romantic spots. Victoria & Alberts is amazing (but expensive), Jiko (in Animal Kingdom Lodge) and Le Cellier in EPCOT come to mind. Make sure you call 407-wdw-dine to get priority seating (the Disney version of reservations) if you want to eat at one of the flagship restaurants (or really anything that isn't counter service.)

My DH and I went to Disney on our honeymoon and have been going back at least once a year since then. (Our honeymoon was his first Disney trip!) We act like big children every time we go. We hit every ride we can... and we always make time for Fantasmic. We love it even though we've seen it again and again.

I would definitely say schedule dinner at California Grill during the fireworks... that was one of our favorite meals during our honeymoon. We LOVE Jiko and try to eat there every time we go. I would also recommend seeing if you can get an ADR outside at Rose and Crown for Illuminations. If you are fans of music and group sing-alongs, Jellyrolls is a blast! San Angel Inn in Mexico is dimly lit, has a lot of ambiance and can be very romantic... see if they can seat you along the edge by the ride (waterfront seating!).

You can always find romance at Disney... even in the small things. When we eat at any of the boardwalk restaurants we make sure we go early so we can stroll the boardwalk. We've sat by the fire at AKL waiting for dinner. We try to make most of our ADR for dinner later so that it's not as crowded and loud and we can enjoy each other's company.

I hope you have a great time!

Lie by the pool, browse in the stores. It'll be about 13 years before you can do this again and not be bothered.

The Adventurers Club on Pleasure Island. It's a blast but not little kid friendly. Plus, I would recommend taking some time to explore the other resorts like the Boardwalk. And try all the different types of transportation - the boats are a nice change from the buses.

Have fun! I don't have children yet but have been to Disney 3 times as an adult and want to make sure I make it back there one more time before I have children because I'm afraid they'll slow me down!!

I agree about the Segway Tour, well worth it.
I've done it twice and highly recommend it!

What other tours do people find great? I'm not sure Segway interests us.

DH and I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour- very infromative and you get lunch. It is a few hours long.

I also agree with a PP ADVENTURER'S CLUB is a MUST! It is so much fun!

Drink around EPCOT- DH and I like to stroll around DTD with a rum runner from the little bar by the dock.

We also did the Segway tour last Sept and DH said that was one of the best things he has ever done in Disney- but if that kind of thing does not interest you- then you may not be that excited about it!

any new ideas out there for our last trip without kids? My husband doesn't hink therre will be anything at Disney that's not totally geared toward kids...I need to prove him wrong:goodvibes

We make sure we do all the big rides lots of times as hopefully the time will come when we need the child swap! California Grill is our favourite place for a lovely dinner, not quiet and there are kids there but hey this is WDW. We always have some pool time each day to chill out.

We're also (hopefully!) getting ready for our last pre-kids trip. One of our favorite things to do when we're staying at a MK area resort is to head out to the beach at night. Its especially nice when the fireworks or the Water Pageant is going on. :lovestruc

You might want to buy or borrow some WDW guidebooks for couples-there are several on the market.
