Ok, we just got back from SSR, rented points, went fine. I just don't know how the whole Timeshare thing works... and have some questions. I hope someone will answer for me so I know for next time.

Every day we would walk outside of our room and see laundry baskets outside of some doors. Are these supposed to be brought in my the occupants and then they change the sheets themselves and put the dirty stuff outside, or at the baskets waiting for a housekeeper to see that the room is empty and then they go in to change sheets and towels? I saw loads of trashbags and pizza boxes outside doors as well, and was wondering who took the trash out when it was outsie like that.

If you are staying a short time you don't get housekeeping, and that's fine, but where are you supposed to put the trash? I just kept taking it to the trash can on the bottom floor by the walkway but that dosn't seem right to me.

Help?

Not being familiar with the layout of SSR...I would assume that there are trash disposal areas to take out your trash, if you need to do so. At OKW there is a "trash/recycle" room under one stairwell in each building.

As far as the sheets, yes, those baskets are set out for housekeeping to service the rooms...not to be picked up by the room occupants. The baskets, again at OKW, are distributed outside the doors of the units that are scheduled for housekeeping that day. I have also seen housekeeping set bags of trash outside the rooms while they were servicing, then remove them when they have finished. But I have seen some guests do that as well, probably those that are not familiar with the resorts, or perhaps people who have rented points from members and do not know where the trash containers are located.

The laundry is there for the maid to use to make up the room when the occupants leave the room. It simply makes it easier for them instead of having a cart.

As Chuck said they also set out the garbage in bags as they clean the rooms and then gather it all at one time.

While a guest if you need to take our your trash, there is a trash room on each floor near the ice machine. It is marked on your info sheets you get when you check in.

Yes, every member is responsible for emptying the trash on non-housekeeping days. If you are renting or a member, you have the option to pay an additional fee for full maid service and/or trash & towel service every day. If you are guest paying Disney, daily full housekeeping is included.

The trash for SSR is on the ground floor in the right walkway if facing the buildings on the 3 we have stayed at.
