Has anyone ever made a reservatiom for a table for 6 and only showed up with 5 people. We might have someone with us during parts our trip but the dates are not in stone. If i reserve for 6 and show up with 5 people will we still get a seat or what. i know they have a $10.00 per person cancelation fee within 48 hrs and am willing to pay that if i keep my ressie. When i tried to change one of them back to a table for 5 they told me they didnt have anything available for a party that size..... which is odd because most of the time we are seated at a 6 person table with an empty seat.

I don't know which restaurant charges a $10.00 cancellation fee - but just last week our party of 9 was reduced to 8 at Chef Mickey's due to my DD being sick and it wasn't an issue at all when I told them at the podium.

bump- I have never heard of being charged for canceling an ADR reservation (Minus pre-paid events and dinner shows). Anybody else heard of this?

Akershus took my credit card # and will charge me $10 per person for a no show. Not all restaurants do this - most don't take your cc#. But this one does and will charge a no-show fee. I think the cancellation policy was 24 or 48 hrs ahead of time.

When we went two weeks ago, we did not have a $10.00 fee per person that did not show up. We had a party of 5 booked for Prime Time Cafe and Cape May and only 3 of us went instead of 5, and they took us in with no problems, so I guess it depends on where it is you are dining.

Only a few restaurants charge the no-show fee, and they might take pity on a party that was just missing one person. I don't know - you'd have to just see what the restaurant says when you get there.

You're fine to show up missing one. Things happen, people get sick. Just tell the hostess someone wasn't able to come and you're now a party of X.
