to getting on Peter Pan without waiting for an hour?
We went in February and it was PACKED and we used our EE pass and STILL waited for nearly an HOUR. Our son LOVES the ride.

All those "little kids" rides seem to have the longest lines too.:confused3

:)

Yep.

- Arrive at DL gate 30 min. prior to EE rope drop for EE (assuming you have EE prividges). or
- Arrive at DL gate 30 min. prior to rope drop on a non - EE day.
- You'll be one of the first few dozen families in the park. Power walk down Main St. thru the castle & ride (in order):

- PP (best if you are one of the first families on, there will be a line after 5 min.)
- Dumbo
- Alice
- Matterhorn
- Toadie or the Teacups
- SW or Pinocchio or Storyland.

(psst - they're not "kiddie rides" most are historic, charming "dark rides" & they're for adults....we just let the kiddies ride on them too. ;))

- Be sure & read all of HydroGuy's tip threads.
- Remember the FantasyLand Rides are all very slow loading rides, so the line builds quickly & rarely goes down. (Except for Pinocchio & SW).

Have fun at Walt's park. :thumbsup2

Whenever we go to DL, Peter Pan is the FIRST ride that we go on... We haven't had to wait an hour first thing in the morning.. Maybe there was a problem with the ride? :confused3 If we get there for the rope drop, we avoid the right side of the hub and all of the people rushing to Nemo. The last time we were there and they had a rope drop, they moved it out to the entrance of each "land". We were right in front to enter FL and were the second family onto Peter Pan...

Did you happen to go at a busy time in February? Our first trip to DL was in February, after President's day (I thought it would be a slow time, but it was absolutely *packed*). Peter Pan was packed even during our EE time as well.
This time we did make sure we were at the gates 30-40 minutes before opening. That made a world of difference. That way you can get on PP without a long wait. All of the people that show up later have to wait forever in line, and then loose precious time in the park!!

What Hound said. . . .

and most imporantly repeat the DangerMouse mantra as you are heading down Main Street . . .

Peter Pan first . . . Peter Pan ALWAYS first!

Like others have said, go to Peter Pan first thing on EE!

Another good time to go is during a parade or during the fireworks.

Good point. If it's really crowded at DLR (holiday, spring break, SoCal school holiday etc., perhaps any Sat.) you might want to arrive 40-45 min. before EE opening.

When we went in Mid March (during Spring Break), 25 min. before rope drop put us 25-30th (family) in our line. (A small line was forming at Peter Pan by the time we got there, but 5 min. later the line was already long).

When we went in early June, 30 min. before rope drop put us 5-6th (family) in our line. & we strolled on PP & then rode Dumbo on it's first cycle. (But I noted after we got off Dumbo - maybe 10 minutes into EE - the line for PP was already very long.)

So take your pics of the castle later.....as DangerMouse says.....move it on down Main St. to PP. PP is always first. :cool1:

Actually you can't go during the fireworks because the whole main FL section is roped off.

You can do this which is what we did last December. Right as the fireworks are done, head around the castle to the Mad Tea Party area. When the fireworks are done, the main FL area will be unroped (kinda like a mini rope drop) and everybody rushes to Peter Pan. We got on in less than 10 minutes about 5 minutes after the fireworks.

But also to echo everybody else. First thing on any day is also good. My guess is that even though you may have used your EE, you weren't there at the beginning.

We just came back from our trip to DLR, and it was the first time in the last 2 years that we rode PP because the line wasn't too long. Surprisingly, it was Halloween day (Weds afternoon), and the line was VERY SHORT. We skipped on over of course and the wait was about 15 minutes.

But most of the time it seems the line for PP is painfully long unless you get there first thing in the morning, and since my DH and oldest DS are not early risers by any means, we never make it first thing in the morning. It's more like we saunter in around 10:00am - 11:00am.:rotfl:

(I have thought about going to EE with my youngest DS, since we're the early risers of the family, but for some reason I would feel guilty doing that, leaving DH and my oldest DS behind.)

On our second day of EE (which was a tuesday & the park was practically empty early that morning).... DS 8 & I did EE (while DW slept) & it was really great. Since we had done THE preferred FL ride sequence the previous day, we rode on his (& my) favorite rides on this second day of EE. We did (in order):

- Alice
- Matterhorn
- Toady
- Pinocchio
- Buzz 3 times.
- & SM.

at Gen. Admission Rope drop we picked up an Indy FP & then rode:

- BTMRR
- HM
- Pirates
- then met DW at Jungle Cruise (@ 10:00 am).

Then we went to Pooh Corner for bakery items (tigger tails, macadamia ch. chip cookies, & lots of other low cal/nutritious breakfast bakery fare :))

It was a fantastic morning. I say leave the sleeping men in the room & take youngest DS out for a woundrous Disney morning. :thumbsup2

Guilty, schmilty! Be a Disney-Super-Mom to your early riser DS and get out there! From a fellow early riser, my advice is "don't waste the day away", especially when you're in Disneyland!

I'm so glad my whole family are early risers!

I can see the look on DH's face if I told him I was going to EE without him. That look of "What? How could you do that? How could you happily go to DL without me?!" His big ol' eyes blinking at me innocently and a big pouty bottom lip.

Oh well - you snooze, you LOSE! That's what I'd be thinking!:goodvibes

Maybe I will do it next time. I mean what's the big deal, right? Of course if I wasn't there to practically roll DH and DS 8 out of bed, they probably wouldn't make it to the parks until NOON!

Too bad they don't have evening EMH at DL. My DH and DS 8 would be jumping for joy if they did.

For sure, you have to do it right first thing in the morning with EE or be at the park to be one of the first families in the park at reg time and power walk it to fantasyland. Its insane to wait over an hour for a 2 min dark ride.

I am STILL to this day not sure why PP has such a HUGE fan drawing. . .even at WDW. It is fun, no doubt, but I just don't get it. Anyway, yes, you do need to be there 30 minutes before rope drop (or opening if they don't let people in for rope drop). Remain to the left side of main street to avoid crowds to Nemo and head straight to the castle. . .PP is the first ride on the right just inside the castle. . .actually, if you remain in the middle of main street you will also avoid those heading towards Indiana Jones Adventure, HM and POTC.

I agree. It wouldn't be in my top 10 rides at DL. (Wouldn't even be in my top 5 in FL.) But.....we gotta ride it, so we'll always do it first thing on one of our mornings (with Dumbo right after it).

Flying over London is wonderful, but I would rather travel to naughty places with Mr. Toad and his gang. I also find Snow White to be funny because the story doesn't make sense. Personally though I rarely ride PP or most any ride in FL unless I see a short line at Mr. Toad or all the other lines are long. But they are great classics, just not my favs.

we got in line 10 minutes after the parade started tonight and it only took 10 minutes to catch a pirate ship to neverland!

We did this too. It worked quite well. Our wait was about 10-15 minutes.

We never go early in the morning so there's always a wait for PP - usually about 30 minutes. We time it so that we have lunch while waiting. I've eaten sooooo many sandwiches in that line! By the time the kids eat, watch for the Evil Queen above Snow White, and play a game, we're almost there.
