Probability of early cabin check-in?

We are anticipating arriving around noon and I see that the official check-in time is 3 pm. I'm wondering what the chances are that our cabin would be ready. Does anyone know?

If the cabin you will be staying in has not been used the night before your check-in, I would think your chances are good that you will be able to go to it and settle in.

We were camping in our motorhome in Jan 2004, and we showed up at 10:00 am, and they let us in to our site, ( I know it's different for you in a cabin) , but when I called about arriving early they assured me that if I couldn't get on my site, I could park in the overflow parking, and we'd be given our passes to start our day. They are very accomodating this way because they know you and your family are all excited to begin your vacation as soon as possible. Have a great trip.

We had requested 2500 loop cabins, non-smoking, near the bus stop. When we arrived at 8:30 am, the cm said our cabin was not ready, but if we were willing to take a cabin farther in, we could move in right away. We got 2514, and I think they were going to give us 2503 or something. I loved what we ended up with, as the buses were a little noisier than I thought and if we had been closer we would have heard them.
So long story short, if you are flexible about location, and it is not busy season, there is a good chance you should be able to.

We had requested 2500 loop cabins, non-smoking, near the bus stop.

My original request was to be close to the marina, but now that I've studied the map, I see that none of the cabin loops look like they're within easy walking distance to the marina. So why did you request 2500? Near the pool? I've never been to FW, so I'd appreciate input on the best cabin locations.

You are right about the marina! But the buses will get you there very nicely. (We love the buses!)
2500 loop is smaller than some of the others, and is right by the laundry and pool. A bus stop is right at the entrance of that loop, which services the surrounding loops. I was extremely happy with our location. Near the entrance of the 2600 loop would be good too, but too far back into it might be a hike.
I LOVE Ft. Wilderness, but we have outgrown the cabins. Sigh. It was a very good first time onsite experience for us.

I agree that flexability is important if you want to check in early. We were at FW in July, requested 2500 Loop but ended up with 2601. This location was great. FW was at capacity while we were there, so we were not able to check in early. I am sure you and your fam will have a great stay. I look forward to going back soon.

Thanks so much for the input. I called to confirm my reservation and put in a request for 2500. I guess if it's not ready we'll have to decide whether location or early check in is more important.
