I'm just curious to see if there are others out there using ProActiv (the 3-piece acne system that we've all seen in informercials at nearly every hour of the day!) I've been using it for over a year, and the change it's made in my skin is tremendous. I couldn't recommend it enough! :D

Has anyone else given it a try? I was one of the skeptics -- I watched the informercial at least 10-15 times before I finally called and ordered. I wish I'd known about this in highschool!

Please share your stories if you've tried this system. I hope other people have had the same awesome results!

Yes it worked wonders for my dd after taking her to two different dematogists and trying numerous things they gave her I ordered her pro active and she has gotten great results with it !!!

I have been a Proactiv user for 6 years now!
My story begins 13 years ago, when I was 11 yrs old. Yes, I had severe acne at that age, it's genetic. Got it from my mom's side of the family.
Cystic acne (what I have) is when blemishes never turn into a white head or 'the popping stage.' My blemishes turn red and just grows and grows with puss. (Gross I know, but I was the one who lived with it!) Getting them on my nose, near my lips or near my eyes was never fun because these facial features would swell as a result of the blemish growing. Sometimes I'd have two or three at a time on my face. (My dad would call me pizza face! How sad.) There was never a time when my face had no blemishes. Because Cystic blemishes don't go away on their own, I'd be so desparate that I took a needle to them and "pop" them. My dermotologists advised against the needle plan, but what was I going to do, live with these forever! (If I don't "pop" a blemish it will stay on my face for up to two months before it goes down!) That was the only way to get rid of them. When I was in high school, kids would always ask if I got beat up at home because they thought my pimples were bruises!! I'd go along with it and say I fell or I ran into the wall when it was dark. (Yea right! They probably thought I was abused. Close friends of mine knew the truth though.)

Anyway, I discovered Proactiv on an informerical my senior year in high school. I thought, what the heck, I've tried everything else, I have nothing to loose. It works for me!!! After paying a few thousand at the dermotoligist (for Acutane), and after trying everything at the stores, (and I mean EVERYTHING from Stridex Pads, to every cleanser available back then and Seabreeze), I finally found something that works for me!

I haven't seen a blemish in so long, it's great!

Sorry this is long, but it feels great to share my story with someone!

a bought is around christmas time 2 years ago and I ran out and I through away the reoder form which makes it cheaper. I need to buy some more. but i forget to write down the number.

I went to my local mall last week and there was a Proactiv kisak (sp?) or if you want to call it a booth. (Citadel Mall, Colorado Springs, CO) They sell all the products that are listed in the re order form including makeup. Since I didn't need another kit yet, I just picked up the facial cleanser.
Pretty convenient! Does anyone else have a Proactiv booth at your local mall?

I've been using ProActiv since September of last year. I started seeing the "dramatic" results within two months. A medication that I'm on caused terrible acne, and I have never had an acne problem before. So, I tried all sorts of things, but ProActiv is the only thing that works. Just recently I noticed that my skin is a lot less oily as well... and I've always had oily skin.
So, ProActiv was a sort of life saver for me - I swear by it and recommend it to anyone else.

I've been using this for years and I love it. I have tried to buy something cheaper at the drug store and I always go back to ProActiv. I am one of those people that only have an occasional break out but it's great! You can also get it on QVC.com...that's where I get mine :p

I just started using it a month ago and have seen great results already.

While pregnant with my DS I started getting adult acne. Which I never had dealt with before. After his birth my hormone level went crazy and I broke out even more.

Very depressing to deal with especially right after having a baby.

I can already see after only one month better skin tone and texture.
Less oilyness and fewer break outs. My skin is a more even lighter color.
I still am getting some breakouts but not as severe as before.

I've only been on it for a real short time so I'm hoping to see more improvment in the near future.

It does tend to dry out parts of my skin though. I'm using the 5 step kit so I always use lots of the face moisturizer.

I love this product! I use it faithfully every day in conjunction with an oral antibiotic for acne. It's been a life saver for me. Once I hit my 30's, my skin was awful. I wish they had kiosks at our malls....sure would save on shipping. I would like to try the makeup some time.

My one tip when purchasing the product. Buy it through the infomercial, QVC, or at a mall kiosk. Do not buy it on e-bay. It shocks me to see the price people pay for the product. Most of the time people end up paying more than the actual retail price!!

I use Proactive too - and it's really been wonderful. I started using it after my daughter was born 5 years ago and I had bad acne/roscacia. It cleared it up immediately and I have used it on and off since.

It says in the materials that come with it that it has not been tested on pregnant women. I used the cleanser and the astringent, but not the cream, when I was pregnant with my son, and didn't have any problems.

It's the first thing I've ever bought from an infomercial!!

Yay! I'm so glad to hear that other folks have had the same great results as I have! Everytime I see the informercial on TV (which is VERY often these days!) I wish there was some way to reach out to people who haven't tried it and get them to give it a chance. My mom has always said that I should send in a before & after picture, but I actually don't even HAVE a before picture. My skin was so bad, I never wanted to have my picture taken. :(

But after over a year of using it, I'll never try anything else! The only suggestion I would make is that you should definitely get into the automatic-shipment club. Then you never have to worry about running out. The default is every two months, but I recently changed it so that they send me the 3-step kit every 6 weeks. That way I can use it all twice a day and I know I won't run out before the next shipment comes.

The change will be really dramatic the longer you use it, Bunchkin. My skin is SUPER soft now, and even though I'll get one blemish every so often, they go away about 10x faster, and I don't get the urge to pop the heck out of it, like I used to. Talk about a great way to damage your skin even more!

Has anyone else had a great experience with this stuff? I'm so glad to see that I'm not alone!!

Oaky, this thread finally pushed me to order it. What about foundation though? Do you still wear it? What brand have you found that doesn't have a negative reaction to Proactiv?

Hi Maleficent! Very glad to hear that you're going to give ProActiv a try!

I do still wear foundation, to even out my skin tone. I have a few acne scars and such, and with super fair skin if I have blotchy spots they really show up, so foundation is great to just make me look all one color! I use CoverGirl, I think it's called "Aqua Smooth" or something. It comes in the dark blue case, and looks like liquid-to-powder foundation. It's lightweight and feels really cooling on my skin. Never had a problem with it reacting to ProActiv, and I think it also has a light SPF in it, which is nice.

I would recommend staying away from the True Illusion foundation by Mabelyene (sp?) ... This stuff has moisturizer and SPF in it, and no matter how long you wait after putting on the ProActiv lotion, the foundation always feels like it's sliding around on your skin. Yuck!

ProActiv makes their own brand of foundation, but it's kind of pricy. Has anyone ever tried their makeup? I'd like to, but I don't know if it's worth the extra $! :D

I use Physicians Formula makeup. I actually quit using the foundation because my skin tone has evened out a lot. I use the liquid cover up on areas and the face powder. A little pricey compared to some others but the coverage is excellent. I used to you all Estee Lauder but switched to Phys Formula a couple years ago.

You've convinced me to try this. My dd was on accutane for a while and could use it again, but if this helps, then there is no need for the meds.
I might even use it. It feels mighty ridiculous to be 39 with pimples.

I think you'll be really pleased with it, Serena! Stay as far away from Accutane as you can ... After I read about the studies that showed that Accutant caused depression in some of the people who took it, I knew it wasn't the right thing for me!

Best of luck, let us all know if it helps you and DD!
