Private VIP Tours have access to RotR

Rumor has it - ROTR access is now going to be rescinded from the VIP Tours. If so, that didn't last very long. If you book a tour, I would triple check that you will have access before plunking down all of that $$$.

I really hope that isn’t true!!! That would be very disappointing. I wonder why.

We called yesterday and they confirmed they are no longer doing this.

So strange. There must have been some major issue.

Now they still have to deal with the 100% full parking lot for VIP vehicles at DHS every morning...

I heard a few days ago that Rise of the Resistance would be included on VIP Tours starting July 11, but I just heard today that Disney "changed its mind" and it is no longer included. Apparently it was included for one day. Has anyone heard what's going on with this and if it will be included again in the near future?

Interesting. I have been trying to book a tour for our week in August. They're fully booked, but I did ask about ROR and they said it was included. I call every other day to check for cancellations, so I'll ask when I call tomorrow to see what they say.

Someone was on with a VIP Tour Guide when we rode it today. I assumed they didn’t have to try to get a BG like we did.

Yeah, so what about the people who booked while it was being offered, and now it's been rescinded? I would not be very happy if I was one of them and did not get the memo.

So interestingly I was one of those people who booked during that time frame (I am definitely not happy!) but the letter they sent did say there was no access to RoTR. I had assumed since they said there would be that it wouldn't be a problem since that would change but if anybody does get upset about it, there form letter confirming the booking wasn't changed to include the access. Still won't make for happy campers but people have less to go on since they did receive an official booking confirmation that said it was not included. I really hope they change this again. I wonder what happened to make them decide to include and then decide not to include it!

Also, can’t you cancel up to two days before the tour? So for people who only want the tour if RotR is included they can just cancel, right?

Does anyone know how many VIP tours can be booked each day? It doesn't seem that with 10 people max/tour it would make a ton of difference in the number of riders RotR can handle on a normal basis.
I think I saw a post somewhere saying there is roughly 64 tour guides currently. Assuming not all work every day and there are backups and whatnot, as well as multiple guides on a single tour if there are celebs, there probably isn’t more than 50 tours going at one time and likely less on any given day. Not all tours are ten people either. For instance we only have six in our party. I just don’t know if I see it just being a volume logistics thing. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks it must be something more but who knows. At first I thought maybe fast pass was coming back so they were looking to add this to keep interest high in tours after that announcement.

I know in precovid times the number of VIP tour guides could get up over 100 at busy times like Christmas week because they pulled guides from the other tours to do it but they can’t even do that now because nothing else is running. It just doesn’t seem like it should be a numbers issue. Its really a bummer

So wild that they have already backtracked on this. I called last week and spoke to two different VIP CMs who both confirmed private VIP tours will not need a BG for ROTR. Disappointing that they have already reversed this decision. First world problem, I know.
