Private tours of LA/Hollywood?

We are visiting California in September and are wanting to do a day trip to LA. We'll be staying in Anaheim at the Disneyland hotel. We've looked at tours run by Grayline etc but the ones we have found run for 13 hours which we think is way too long, especially to be sitting on a bus for a lot of that time.

I've heard there are some companies that do private tours in a private car? There will only be two of us, my DF and I, so we only need something small. We'd like to see all the usual touristy sites but not be restricted to certain places/time frames.

Can anyone recommend a good company that will do this?
