Anybody watch Private Practice last night?
I was just bawling.
I can't believe that nobody would take Betsi.

I think we'll see Betsi again when Naomi gets back. She'll take her.

I couldn't believe Amy Brenemen's (sp?) character got all angry & judgmental that no one else could take Betsi. Pot meet Kettle. She couldn't do it herself, then she gets angry that no one else couldn't either? Sometimes this show gets a little too much into their self importance and self righteous for my tastes.

Pembo I was thinking the same thing ~ it was just a little to convenient that this all happened while Naomi was away.

Imzadi I was having a hard time watching it last year and am sort of watching it this year. When Addison kept jumping into everyone's bed last year I was getting tired of it. "Come on ~ you're suppose to be an intelligent 40 something year old women, quit jumping in bed with anyone who looks interested."
...and when Naomi was angry and having a hissy fit over Mya get pregnant (which was understandable at the beginning) I feel it just went on too long

I totally agree. I actually stopped watching it last year. I felt Addison was just being a big ho. And Naomi sleeping with her ex-husband and the dying guy but then getting mad at her kid for being pregnant. Um, hypocrite much? And I HATE Amy Brenneman's character. "I hate my kid. Oh I want my kid back again, everyone out of my way."

I did add the show back to my DVR though. I read a spoiler about something that's coming up and if done well could be really interesting.

The episode pissed me off.

In my family and group of friends we would all be fighting over who took Betsi but we would be fighting over who got to actually take her. I can't imagine not taking in my friend's child if they were to die.

Yes, I watch this show off & on, too, since it's on after Grey's Anatomy. They always seem so self absorbed and melodramatic. Can't they find OTHER people to sleep with outside their little circle?

Why couldn't they do a rotation of fostering little Betsi, each of them for a while, until they found a great family they were SURE would be good for her?

Last week, when Addison said she should have told Naomi about how Sam let that child molester die on the table, I thought, "No, that wasn't YOUR secret to share. That was Sam's."

They all are a little too co-dependent and unhealthily lacking proper boundaries for me.

One person... maybe two... Sheldon and Pete, talked about the fact that Betsy is gonna have a series of issues and problems due to her history. That is very, very true. Betsy will need to be placed with people that will be able to help her and be aware of the where's and whyfore's of her behaviors.

While Pete and Violet looked to be the best bet for Betsy. They are newly married, Violet's had a very unstable 2 years etc. If Violet had not been thru such a violent episode in her life followed by the abandonment of her son, Pete and she would be the best solution.

I thought it was a well done show, very touching, yet more realistic than we care to think. Yes I cried for Betsy. She is confused and alone.

as for all the bed hopping... Holy Cow! These people need to make more friends!!

I was pretty shocked that no one took her either. I thought it was pretty sad. I get that not all of them wanted this dropped in their laps, but they all knew her, her Dad, knew her situation, and are financially stable. I don't know, I have an adopted brother and my ds has a friend who's parents are pieces of crap and he spends a lot of time at our house and my DH and I say often, how we'd adopt him in a second if it was ever an option. It's not something that I ever wished for, and yes our lives would be different, more expenses, more issues ect., but I can't imagine not making the difference in a kids life is I was able to. I know it's just a show, but it was pretty sad, and I know it's probably not that popular thing to do, but I do think less of their characters from that.

Agreed on all accts (incl the bed hopping, It is all becoming a bit much)
I think they showed the realisic outcome of the situation. We would all like to think we would step up, and be able to handle the situation, but would we really?
