Awhile back there was talk about DCL moving the Private Mixology/Tastings to days when the ship was in port as opposed to when the ship was at sea. Wondering if anyone has had any recent experiences booking with DCL and if the private functions are restricted to days at sea. TIA

I organized the private mixology groups for my SWDAS cruise last month. We ended up having 4 groups (120 people total I think) so DCL gave me 3 slots on sea days and 1 slot on a port day. It was ST Thomas day at 4pm and all ashore was 4pm that day as well. If you only have 1 or 2 groups then I'm sure they will try to do it all on sea days, but that was my recent experience.

I hope so. We're on the NYC cruises and only port days are WDW day and CC day. That wouldn't work.

I hope you don't mind me asking a question within this thread...but does this apply to non-private beverage seminars too-as in are they usually scheduled for at sea days?

They are usually scheduled for sea days. There was talk of the private ones being scheduled for days when the ship was at Port.

I am bumping this one up... Can somebody comment what the recent process is now for the Dream, 4 night---?: if they still try for the one sea day.. also how far in advance do they give the slot infos?

For privates, it's inside of 60 days sometime. It's definitely after everyone has been allowed to check in and book stuff, so there's always rearranging and panic in the private groups.

From bits of chatter I've seen elsewhere, it sounds like DCL has started to organize private mixology classes on port days, not sea days. Curious to see if this is the new normal.
