Just curious as what you would think of this Ebay seller:

Past 7 days

Positive 1228
Neutral 29
Negative 37
Total 1294

Past Month

Positive 3901
Neutral 63
Negative 73
Total 4037

And why do you think feedback is private, and should it be?

Looking at it mathematically, their feedback for the past month is 3.3% negative or neutral, and 5% neg or neutral for the past 7 days. I'll admit that someone is not going to get everything perfect, but I wonder if this person isn't just overwhelmed and can't handle everything.

Looking at it another way -- half of their negative or neutral feedback in the past month has happened in the past 7 days, while only 32% of their total feedback for the past month has been posted in the past 7 days.

(I missed my calling .... I should've been a statistician)

If I was considering buying from them, I would be reconsidering. If they were buying from me, I would be concerned. As for their feedback being private, it's a tough call. Maybe they're hiding something, maybe some of the feedback was unnecessarily vindictive. I honestly don't know why someone would make their feedback private.

I had a guess on who Barb might be referring to, and from the feedback I looked at, I would say I was right. I won't say because it would be interesting to see what people's responses are. Of course who this seller is, explains why the feedback is private and I have wondered why that is too.

very interesting.. guess relationships with ebay are sacrosanct.

figgy

I have no clue who the seller may be.......but.......I would think that with that many positives, they were very efficient at one time. Makes me think there is something deeper going on in their personal lives......OR someone is trying to harm there feedback unwarranted, hence the private status, until they can get ebay to remove it.

Well, as many of you suspect, the seller is Disney Deals.
I am one of their positive ratings.
But these numbers make me wonder if any ol' Joe or Jane had this kind of feedback, would they be able to continue selling on Ebay?
Normally, if I saw this feedback, I would pass on even bidding. Or if I see Private feedback, I pass even then.
I thought it interesting what other's read into the feedback and to see what different lights we (all) hold Disney to, as opposed to an individual.
From reading posts on Dizpins I suspect some of the negative feedback go to those who won auctions, only to be e-mailed later --So sad. Too bad. We don't have the item after all.

Did you check the Rosie O'Donnell charity auctions when she was doing them on e-bay?
Their feedback was also private. They stated this was because people would make inappropriate comments about Rosie or the show that had nothing at all to do with the items. Some of them from NPB's no doubt.
I'm sure Disney has the same problem.

I would treat a Disney auction as a purchase from Disney. I think they use the auction site as just another retail market and while they try they can not please everyone. I would never be afraid of buying anything from someone like that. Now if it was a private person I would think twice. And I would imagine that someone would love to just dis Disney so I can understand the use of private feed back.

I think that people will put uncalled for comments in their feedback because they know it's private.

It's a way to "get back" at a corporate giant.

And, of course, there are certainly some percentage of truly unhappy buyers, with valid complaints.

On the other hand....I'm certainly glad this is not my feedback record.
