Private dining at the Whitehall Room

I inquired with my coordinator about having a private dining event after our ceremony in the Whitehall Room. I was told that we would not be able to do so because the Whitehall Room and Patio are reserved for Wishes brides.

I had no idea about this. It seems as though some others have been able to use it while having an escape wedding.

Any ideas on what I should do? I hate to push anyone's buttons!

that's strange. I haven't heard that this venue was only for Wishes Brides, but maybe some Escape brides will come along and have something to add.

I would try asking again. Maybe they give priority to Wishes brides but after a certain point I'd think they'd rather have the room booked than empty. And especially now that they have added the new minimums for Escape brides I can't see why it would be a problem.

I was just reading on Judy and Steves Escape planning report that they just booked the Whitehall room. I think I would have ask why it is ok for some and not others. Things like this really worry me. I have been debating on a escape or wishes. I think an escape is all we need, but I don't like how different escape brides seem to be allowed to do differant things. I just don't understand. Maybe if you point this fact out to them they will consider it for yours. Good Luck!

I went straight off Carrie's Passporters Disney Weddings and Honeymoon Guide, page 29, in the Escape section it talks about private dinning, I asked Bill then he checked and suggested the Whitehall room. Bill also aluded to the fact that there was lots of availabilty on my day and I got the impression that not many other weddings were happening that day (3 Aug 10). As it is getting close to the 90 day payment date for a Wishes wedding it is probably a good bet that a Wishes bride would not be needing the room. So it could be that it is reserved first for a Wishes bride but then becomes available if not being used, I don't know.

Also on Chilly's (Claire's) PJ and TR they had a private dining event in the Key West Room. I know someone else used the Key West Room but search is down and I can't find it. That might be an option.

It could also be - but you'd be able to clarify exactly what he said - that he meant a wishes bride already had it reserved for that date? :confused3

I don't know, I'm just adding to the possibilities because I was sure escape brides could use the Whitehall Room...

Thank you all for the replies :goodvibes

I apologize but I should have specified more. We were actually holding the WHR for our date (our wedding is the only one at the WP for that day) but we have decided to switch from Wishes to Escape due to the number of guests that have dropped out.

I even told her about the Passporter bc I got so excited when I saw it in there! It is so annoying how everyone seems to get a different answer from their planner, I hate to be a nag, and ask again but I really had my heart set on the WHR.

Thanks again everyone! :goodvibes

Escape brides can't usually book private events until the 6 month mark. Maybe that's what they meant.

This has changed with the new escape minimums - you can now book at 8 months
