Privacy question when sleeping in one of the Value rooms...

We use those EEMH to tire our kids out. We could drive a truck through the room and no one would notice! A little whoopie never seems to bother our girls!! They sleep like a rock after a day in WDW.
Besides, we'd just tell them it was Daddy's favorite ride and to go back to sleep! (J/K)

We get 2 connecting rooms at a value resort with our crew of 5. This time around we were going to stay at POR with the trundle bed for the youngest but I started to rethink the whole thing. So I called disney and switched to 2 rooms at AsMusic. Would you believe it only costs slightly less than $100 more for this arrangement for 5 nights. Totally worth it I think for a little bit of privacy;)
We leave the door open in between the rooms for most of the trip and the bonus is the 2 bathrooms when we are getting ready in the morning or taking showers at night.

..once the kids got older (they are now 10 & 14) having private time on vacation was one (of the many) reasons we bought DVC. It is sooooo nice to have the two bedrooms! :thumbsup2 (and the washer & dryer and kitchen too..)

I'm just DYIN' over the shadow puppet comment, too funny!

I looked up the OP's other threads and I think it's most likely that we embarrassed her, more than anything else.

There are a lot of people in the south (live here but a yankee xplant) who still think modesty is a virtue. I'm not saying it's not, I'm just saying it's not as common anymore.

Some people from the north think modesty is a virture too!

OP, I hope you have a WONDERFUL vacation.

Okay call me crazy but how do you keep privacy while sleeping in one of the value rooms (or even the Mod rooms)?

I am staying at ASMu in Aug...and would like a "sheet" between me/DH and the kids...

Also can someone recommend a small backpack to use while at the park?

THANKS!
Donna

This has to be the oddest thread I've ever seen. Anywhere.

I don't think its so odd. :confused3 I remember our first vacation after dd was born wondering what other people do, how they vacation with the kids in the room and still make everyone, er.... happy.

I guess for some people going a week without it not a big deal. For some couples a week without results in tension and crankiness. Not every family can afford Wilderness Cabins or a Suite.

Here I am - the OP!

Sorry but I cannot get on (no pun intended - LOL!) as I went Dining Ressie crazy and have been livin' over there.

My kids are 9 & 7...and my 9 yr old (a boy) is not as mature as prob most 9 yr olds...

My kids sleep deep "enough" but I have also never slept in the same room as them for more than 1 or 2 nights "max".

SOooooo thanks for your input....Next yr we will be reserving a family suite.

LOL - I'm just trying to make sure we all have a good time while at Disney. :)

Ummm...why not get your kids signed up for the tea party at the GF or perhaps one of the other Disney Kids Clubs for a few hours so you and DH can have some grown-up time?

I've heard that some people have "private time" on the rides in the parks. Eeeeewwww!!!!:rotfl:

Seriously though, a friend of mine (she is 40) said she remembers one family vacation above all others that her family took...the one where she was awakened by her parents "having relations" in the bed next to hers. Personally, I think you just don't satisfy yourself at the risk of your kids being woken up and remembering THAT for the rest of their lives. Just sayin'...

Let me preface this by saying if the tag fairy tags me for this I'll have to kill her/him, but one of the chief reasons we bought DVC was for more, um, "quality time" together!

Dh was sold on DVC when he realized it meant a DOOR between us and the kids!

Somebody call DVC marketing! DVC guides needs to add this to their sales pitch for families! All they need to do is to talk about the extra "privacy" to the Dads and watch how many points they sell. :lmao:

I have to be honest the 1st time DH and I went to disney we were 16 and 17 we went with my family. Well we were getting a little naughty on the haunted masion ride and all of the sudden they played the recording about it being monitored lol I was so red in the face oh boy never again. BTW this was almost 13 years ago lol so no more nookie on the rides at all for us

Who has energy for "adult :banana:recreation" after a day at the parks!?!?
I am finding this thread to be quite hilarious- and we're DVC members too!

(The OP again)

Energy...well there's always enough energy for "fun at Disney" right?

I love your replies.....still thinking I'll "hang something" even if we just sleep....DH seems to think we can do the 3M stickies...do a line and threat through a light weight shower curtain (I'll make it a dark colored one) and just take it down in the morning.

Plus it would give a nice large area to change clothes behind, etc.

Where's the adventure in that!?:banana::rotfl2:

Have a great trip!!! ;)

OMG...some of you guys are so funny. I am laughing so hard right now every one in my office is looking at me.

All of us parents have to admit that you cannot go on vaccay for a week without the "slap and tickle" game we like to play. I know my DH and I wouldn't be in as good of a mood if we didn't play. So be creative; after all that is how most of you got your pride and joys anyways. Try turning on the TV and go into the bathroom with the fan on as suggested before. Under the covers:rolleyes1. with a pillow over your mouth if your loud. LOL. Anyways have fun...

Also I think it depends on your kids. My kids for example you could have a heard of cattle run through our room while they are sleeping and it would not disturb them. If your kids are light sleepers try a kids class your resort may offer, if they are heavy sleepers; have at it.
