We are going to Disney in August. If I can't get a PS on the phone, will I be able to get one once I get to Disney and make one there.

We would like to go to Chef Mickey's for dinner and was just wondering if it's easier to get a PS once at Disney.

I would say that you are more likely to get it the sooner you book it. I would start by trying for the first day, if you don't get that move on to the second day, etc... it means alot of early morning calls but I think you will be safer not waiting until you get there. Good luck.

First of all, welcome to the DIS Boards!

You are much more likely to get a PS 90 days out than you are once you arrive at WDW. Start calling at 90 days out for the date you want, or if you aren't sure which day you want to eat there at 90 days out, call as soon as you decide. You should have no problem getting a PS for dinner at Chef Mickey's that way. If for some reason you do, you can always try to make the PS once you get to WDW, but I would just use that as a backup plan.

Since Chef Mickey's is an extremely popular one...the earlier you can book, the better.

That said, yes you can book once you are there either by going to the front desk of your resort and having them make a PS for you or by stopping at the podium at Chef Mickey's and making a PS in person.

You can also try doing a walk up at any given time as well....keep in mind you'd be taking a chance and may show up and nothing is available but...they do keep a small percentage of tables just for walk ups and we have gotten walk ups on a few different ocassions when I was told there was nothing available when trying to make a PS via calling WDW dinning. Just make sure you have a back up plan to either go to a later PS nearby the CR (which you can call and cancel should they be able to take you as a walk up) or plan to go somewhere that you won't need a PS if you can't get in doing the walk up
