Priority Seating Questions

Hi! I'm currently planning my honeymoon trip for the week of June 6th through 11th. My FI bought the gold plan so we will be able to eat at restaurants we normally would not go to.

my question though is that I'm wonderning how early I should call to get reservations for places like the California Grill, 1900 Park Fare (character breakfast) etc. Should I really do it now that it is less than 4 months before our trip, or can I wait another month or two and still get my choice of seating times.

The final question I have is reguarding priority seating at the 50s diner and sci-fi. When I ate at the 50s diner (almost 13 years ago), we went there first thing in the morning and picked a time. is this still possible? or do I need to reserve that at the same time I do the California Grill, etc???

Thanks so much!

Lori

Since you'll be there in "busy season," it's best to make your PSs as soon as you know when you want them. And yes, you can theoretically still make same-day in-person PSs, but 1) why would you want to? that takes time out of your morning to do something you can accomplish with a quick phone call, even that same day from your resort room and 2) in busy season, the more popular restaurants may not have any PSs available at the time you want if you wait that long. If you're not a plan-aheader, there's nothing wrong with that (or so I hear - I'm really anal retentive about planning :) ), but you have to be prepared to eat somewhere else, just in case.

I would make your ps's now. That way you won't be taking any chances. We were at 50's Prime Time a few days ago, and there were people walking up like crazy and they had to turn them away. They were completely booked.

Enjoy the Gold Plan:D We used the Gold Plan in Jan. and made PS for just about everything. We made them all in one fell swoop, but I am also kind of anal about planning, so I had everything ready to go around 90 days out. You can always cancel a PS, but if you show up somewhere and it's booked you'll have to wait or find somewhere else to eat... We did try to get a Chef Mickey's bfast PS for a Monday on the day before and no luck - so it does pay to plan ahead. HTH:D

Happy Planning! :earsboy:

If you don't already have Scott's website bookmarked, you will definitely want to do that. It's an invaluable planning tool I have used many times.:D and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
