We're (hopefully) booking our holiday for August 2005 in the next week and have been trying to sort out dinner shows, special (birthday) meals etc.

Now I may be missing the entire point of priority seating, but I could do with some advice please!

1) is it really necessary to book in advance? No walking in and getting a table like in Paris?
2) can you only book them by ringing the USA? (quails at thought of phone bill) or is there another way for non-usa residents?

Birthdays - If anyone has a tip for making a birthday (it will be my son's 10th) even more special than just being at disney could they please post and let me know:crazy: <- gosh this smiley even has my new hair-do!

I'm afraid it's a case of calling the US. That said, we're on NTL & a 10 minute call costs less than £1, and it doesn't take that long to book PS's unless you've got loads to do. We celebrated DD 4th b/day with b/fast at Chef MIckey. When I made the PS, I mentioned it to the CM, and the waiter brought her a cup cake with a candle. Everyone sang happy birthday & Chip helped her blow the candle out. With 24hrs notice & a spending several bucks, I could have ordered a full cake. I've never been in peak season, but we always make a PS. Last year we were there on Columbus day, and if you didn't have a PS for CP in MK, the earliest seating time (according to our waitress)was 1900hrs, and our lunch PS was 1130! Whatever you do, have a great day

When we were there in Oct we had made PSs for the restaurants we really wanted to visit before we left but when we tried to get into some other places such as 1900 Park Fare and Rainforest Café in DTD whilst there we couldn’t get anything. I would say its important to make PSs for the places where you really want to eat and you should be able to make them with one phone call. Also they are not cast in stone so you can still always make changes whilst you are in WDW.

Thanks very much for the replies. :D we're on NTL too so it will be far less than I thought!

I'm taking your advice and trying to work out when we want special meals/dinner shows and will ring and book. No point spending so much money and going all that way to be disappointed because we didn't book is there?

Thanks again!
