I'm told that Southwest does entertain suggestions from its customers but rather than write them directly I though I would run this question here first.
So you were unable to get a boarding number 24 hours in advance or whatever because you were preselected for random security screening. So when you finally clear security all they have are C boarding passes.
Insult to injury?
What if Southwest gave some kind of perk to those unfortunate souls. Such as boarding with the kids between the A and B groups even when traveling alone?
There are only a very small number of persons who are taken in for extra screening so this should not weigh heavily on the boarding system.
About the "early bird" option, that consists of paying a fee to be able to get a boarding number a little before the 24 hour mark before flight time and without having to sit at the computer when that T-24 comes around.

) My DH and 2 DDs had A boarding passes. I was allowed to board with them.
