I do have some kind of terminal illness cover but at about £35/month its probably useless. I was advised 22 years ago to take private health cover, IIRC it was around £100/month, with increases I would probably have paid in over £30,000 by now without a claim. As with all insurance its a gamble, I just couldn't pay those kinds of figures.

Thanks for the update. My DH is also self-employed and I know how it is to lose valuable work days
