What options are availible for getting prints from a digital camera on-site at Disney.

My wife likes prints she can 'hold in her hand' to look at.

I don't want to waste valuable vacation time travelling off-site.

Is there anywhere on-site where we can get prints from our digital camera? We will be staying at Boardwalk, so Kodak's lab at the Immagination pavillion seems a good spot. I just want a set of prints every few days to look at - they don't have to be big, postcard size would be OK. I will have two memory cards, so I could swap them out if I have to leave them for processing, though I am not keen on letting them out of my posession.

I could perhaps, bring a low cost portable printer like a Selphy (I have a Canon compact) but I am not keen on flying with inks in my luggage.

I could also bring a cable to connect to the TV. Do the room TVs at Disney have appropriate phono sockets on them?

I will not be bringing a laptop.

Most of the resort TVs have RCA jacks in front so Guests can connect their camcorders and digital cameras.

I counsel patience. Sure, DW may want pics she can hold in her hand, but does she have to have them right now? Printing at ImageWorks is possible, though I don't know if they limit the number of prints, but in truth, priting digital photos anywhere in the parks will cost you 3 times what you'd pay at home or at an off-site place like Walgreens.

And if you're talking about dozens or even hundreds of prints, there is no way you could get them printed while you wait - large numbers of "postcard size" (I assume you mean the standard 4"x6" print size) pics take time to print, and you will certainly have to leave your memory card and come back later, no matter where you get the prints made.

I also counsel you to get more memory cards! Two cards for a week-long trip is not nearly enough. What happens if one of your cards gets damaged or lost, or if it's in the camera and your camera gets lost, stolen, or takes a swim on Pirates? You lose ALL of your vacation photos, that's what. Get enough cards that you can keep one day of pics on each one, and put in a fresh, blank card each morning, leaving the used cards locked securely in your room safe.

If you absolutely must have your pics printed before coming home, the best option is off-site - all of the local Walgreens stores have 24-hour photo counters that will print your pics, and copy them to CDs (for $3.99 per disk, for as many pics as the disk will hold, as opposed to Disney's $12.99 per disk, limit 120 pics no matter how many it would hold).

The easiest Walgreens to get to from Boardwalk is the location outside Vistana on SR 535.

*When you leave Boardwalk, go right on Epcot Resorts Blvd.
*Turn left at the traffic signal onto E. Buena Vista Drive.
*Go through two more traffic signals (Victory Way and Celonia Pkwy), then *take the entrance ramp just past Celonia Pkwy onto Epcot Center Drive.
*Go about 1.5 miles, then turn left at the signal onto SR 535 (Apopka-Vineland Road).
*The Walgreens will be about .5 miles on your left. Here is a map of the area:

Week long trip?? We will be at Disney 24 nights!!! We take long vacations in the UK, and it costs so much to get to WDW that we work weekends to accumulate plenty of vacation time. One of the pleasures of the pre-digital era was dropping a film off one day and looking at the photos the next. Even I, like to hold photos in my hand. Three weeks is too long to wait!

A card a day? That's 24 cards. It is probable that I will back up to CD at the Immagination Pavillion once a week and swap cards every so often so I can only lose half my photos. You have to remember that I grew up with film, and I still take photos as if I was using film... 36 exposures in 3-5 days! (actually last trip I brought my T90 film SLR with just a 4Mb point & shoot as backup)
I accept what you say about losing my cards. Maybe I will buy a couple more.. Losing 25% of my photos is better than losing 50%. Maybe I can get a good deal on lower capacity cards.

Off-site is not an option. I use a wheelchair and cannot transfer to a regular car seat. Accessible taxis are few & far between. I can get to Crossroads, but that's about it!!

Thanks for the information about the TVs. My camera can switch between PAL and NTSC so that shouldn't be a problem. I will try sending photos to my own TV before my vacation. Perhaps I can convince my wife that's OK.

Another option might be a stand alone data storage unit with a viewer. I have used a Foci unit with success when I have traveled to Europe. I have also heard good things about some Epson units. With a unit like this you can view the photos, and back up your storage cards.
