Printing images question

I have light colored transfers (for my white shirts). I am using the program that came w/ the transfers not sure if that's my problem or not. It has to print mirror image for these (not a problem b/c the program does it). But I am having trouble w/ them printing out blurry or out of focus. I don't adjust the images any. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong? I am tired of wasting paper.
