Printed digital Disney gift card

I printed my AARP purchased Disney gift card and I need to figure out how to get the funds into either the Disney app or Apple Pay to use for mobile ordering and other purchases at the parks.
I’ve looked through similar posts, but still confused.
I don’t see in the mobile app how to add a gift card as a form of payment. They only want credit cards.
Does anyone have instructions from another post handy or can offer at least the first couple steps to get me started?

Unfortunately, you cannot add a DGC to the MDE app for mobile ordering. Most people just keep a note in their phone with the gift card number and PIN so they can copy/paste it into the payment section when doing Mobile Order.

I have read that people are able to load their DGCs into Apple Pay but I think it never updates the balance, so you have to keep track yourself. However, I am not an Apple user, so I cannot speak to this.
