Princesses don't hit, kick or spit! A May/June TR Update 10/17 Snow White Theme Night

I agree about the wandering characters. There were several times that my children had to just jump up next to them for 2 seconds in order to get a picture. Other times, my kids would wait only to have another family push in front of my kids. I know everybody is excited and I am sure that there were times when we might have jumped in front of another family but the character handler should have made it a little more organized.

That's to bad that the character lines were so insane, but the pictures with the stormtroopers are adorable!

Ohana's is always so good and it looks like you guys had a great meal there.

I laughed at the attempts to take pics of all your four kids at once, too funny

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

It's a shame that the characters wouldn't stop for you - laughed out loud at the pic of DD with just half her head showing! :rotfl:

Sounds like you guys had a great time at O'hana - what a great way to end the evening! :cool1:

Added the Lapu Lapu to my must DRINK list!!!:thumbsup2

Sounds like the characters acted the way they did when I was at DL in the early 80s...you had to hunt them down! I hate that because you can never get a picture without strangers hickjacking your photo! Speaking of photos....:rotfl: another thing we have in common, trying to take pictures of children in groups greater than 1...IMPOSSIBLE!!!

You still got some nice "walking by" pictures of the Star Wars characters.

The kids look like they are having a great time at Ohana. The children's program looks really cute.

I can SO sympathize with the challenges of getting 3 little kids to all look at the camera. We spent an hour with a professional photographer trying to get spring pictures and it took her almost 700 shots!

Your pictures of the kids fighting cracks me up! :lmao::rotfl2:

Sounds like you had a good day and dinner. I really wished we tried O'Hana ... but that's for next time, right? :thumbsup2

There is always a reason go back, I say that everytime we don't get to something "we'll do it on our next trip".

I don't think I would have the patience to chase after characters either, but glad to see you guys saw some more SWW related things at least :thumbsup2

I LOVE Ohanas, cant wait to go in October and it looks like you guys had a great dinner!! I was cracking up looking at the pictures of the kids fighting :lmao:
You will love Ohanas and being just you and Tim, it'll be more relaxing and you can enjoy yourselves more!

That is so odd that the characters wander about. With their costuming, you'd think they'd have a "handler" and that there would be some organization to it all.

We all love Ohana's too. And you must go back since you didn't get wings - it's one of the best parts of the meal! I love shrimp - but it's too much work to have to peel them, so I usually forgo ;) I don't do dessert there. I know. Everyone raves. But I just can't do bananas. I like bananas - but not in anything. I don't even like banana bread. What I can't recall is if I could eat the bread pudding with ice cream - and skip the fosters sauce - I think the pudding has bananas in it too. I guess I will find out in August when we go again!

And the kids - hilarious! There are often threats of beatings when I try to take pictures!:rotfl:

The characters were very odd, I'm not sure if it's normal or not, and I don't really recall any handlers around but I may have been too preoccupied to notice :confused3

We will definately be back to Ohanas, that and Teppan Edo were our favs so we'll be going back to both:thumbsup2 I am like apples the way you are with bananas, I love apples in it's original state but not in anything else. I am like the only person I know that does not like apple pie!

I love the update!! Love the Ohana pics....can't wait for our first dinner there in October!

You'll love it!

Glad I'm not the only one who had issues with them. I'm sure you probably saw more than us though, we just didn't want to bother with them after the first few.

The Stormtroopers were my favorite behind Chewie! Their show was a really neat way to start the day!

My DD is always llike that it those cutouts, she's so tiny that you can always just see her eyes :lmao:

Lapu Lapu will now always be on my list! Yummy!

I think that's how the characters must have been back in the day at WDW too because I have some pics of myself with characters in them with other kids standing right next to us.

700 shots, holy cow! We get their portraits done every year at Christmas and while we do have an huge amount to choose from, it's nowhere near that many. I think it's because I've never had a photographer patient enough to deal with my kids that long:rotfl:

I'm here!!! Loving your TR! We missed Beauty and the Beast show, I hope we get to see it next time! I know we would love it! :goodvibes
We did 'Ohana for breakfast and LOVED it, I think we might have to try it at dinner for sure sometime!! :thumbsup2

Our Photopass CD came today so I thought I'd share some pics from our frist day at DHS. Be pre-warned I love the borders and add ons, even as cheesy as some can be :)

I have a confession, I kinda became obsessed with the PP people. I was hunting them down everywhere I could find them. Even after getting over 300pictures taken I wish we had more! I wanted to take full advantage of it this year because as much as I dislike my picture being taken, I don't want my kids looking back through albums and wondering where their mom was!

Glad to have you here!

I love the Ohana breakfast too! My DH is unfortunately is not a big breakfast person so I can only convince him one TS breakfast per trip!

Nice pictures... gotta love photopass. I too dislike having my photo taken but the kids gotta have something to look back.

Totally love the PP pictures! :cloud9:

I wished I had hunted them down ... I just kept an eye out for them .... but never saw the first one at DHS. :sad2:

Edit: Oh, and I feel ya on wanting to have pics to prove to the kids you were there, too. ;)

I need to be vigilant about getting photopass pictures when we go next week. We were with a big group in both 2007 and 2009 - and somehow we never got a group picture -- and we'd have been so cute with all our matching tshirts. This year we HAVE to do it!

I so know what you mean about being in the photos. I am so often behind the camera. And my husband never thinks about taking it away from me. And sometimes I'll hand him the camera and ask him to take a photo - but unless I say NOW, it also doesn't seem to happen!:)

Thank you, I know I have to keep telling myself that and allow pictures to be taken of me, if you look in our past trip albums, there are only a few of me!

Thanks, I actually had DH hunting them down too, I even remembered to ask about the magic shots and find out where those photographers would be, although there are a few of those I was not able to find:headache:

If you've preordered the cd then I would definately take advantage of them. One thing I made sure to do this time was to not just get the whole group but also ones with just myself, DH and kids. I know I probably was a pain to some of the photographers but honestly I didn't care too much:rolleyes1

I am also behind the camera 99% of the time. I love my DH dearly but he is just an awful photographer so I prefer to do the picture taking. It got to a point one day in Epcot he took the camera and said if I wasn't going to let him take my picture then he was going to be in charge of the camera all day so he could get some shots of me. He lasted about 30 minutes after I kept making him stop to take pictures of everything, lol.

I love the Photopass pictures you got, I think it is so important to get those special pictures with the whole family and I love the photopass opportunities!! I hunt them down too :rotfl:

I hear you, I hate my picture being taken too...so tend to always be behind the camera (and dh never things to take any pictures). I am hoping to take advantage and get some family shots in the parks! I also want to do a private shot at the BC/YC one afternoon...it has been a while since we have had a nice family picture done!

I love the chewie picture too...the photographer did a great job capturing the moment!

I'm back and caught up. Great updates and pictures!!! Can't wait to see more. :thumbsup2

Yes I kinda just getting that, as of before the trip we didn't have many family shots so I more than made up for it!.

I thought about doing a private shoot, I would love something like that. I have told DH that this year I'd really like to get some portraits done at the beach when we go. We haven't had a family portrait with all 6 of us ever done.

I'm back and caught up. Great updates and pictures!!! Can't wait to see more. :thumbsup2

Thanks:love:

Our second park day brings us to my favorite place in the world:cloud9:

001-9.jpg

The Magic Kingdom had AM EMH this day so I set the alarm for myself to get up at 6:30. I got up and ready, set a small snack out for the kids (to hold them over until our late breakfast) and then I woke the kids and got them dressed. We left about 7:30, I'd like to mention that this was the second day in a row where we had no issues with DN getting up early. She is a notorious night owl and her day doesn't usually start until noon so for her to get up with no complaints was a surprise. I had offered before the trip that she could sleep in anytime she wanted and meet up with us later in the parks but she never did the whole trip. My SIL has actually thanked me because she said since DN has been home she's been going to sleep earlier and waking up earlier too!

So we drive over to the MK, we thought about taking the bus but the kids wanted to ride the monorail and I confess I like it too! I love seeing the castle for the first time from the monorail, it tears me up everytime! But of course there are alot of things that make me cry happy tears at MK! After bag check we entered the park right around 8am. While we were still fresh (meaning not smelly and gross like we usually are at the end of the day) I grabbed the first PP guy I could and had some pictures taken.

PHOTO72.jpg

We then walked down a bit and we got more pictures closer to the castle (I told you I became obsessed with the PP people :rotfl:)

We made our way through the castle into Fanatsyland and came upon this lovely lady.

On our last trip Sam became quite smitten with both Mary Poppins and Alice, I don't know what it was, maybe the British accents? So Sam especially was happy to see her! We then went to do our traditional first ride of MK. Any quesses?

018-16.jpg

Dumbo of course! DN and DH sat this one out so I reluctantly handed my camera over to him to get some shots, lol.

While we were getting off of the ride, DH spotted Pinocchio all by himself, we quickly made our way over to him. Pinocchio kept wanting to play tag with my DH, DH is a great sport so he played along, it was quite funny, the kids were cracking up. He ended up spending alot of time playing with the kids because there was noone else around waiting to see him.

As you can see the sun was a bit in the kids eyes
032-1.jpg

Ben wanted to ride his favorite, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (why is there no abbreviation for this, lol). The wait time said 20 minutes but it was a walk on. DH was annoying me because he kept rushing through and the kids wanted to play with all the new things in the line. I was able to get a few pictures.

Wow, the new line looks awesome! Last summer it was all boarded up! I can't wait to take pictures! What is the significance of Mr. Toad handing the deed over?
