Princesses coming to Chicago, Saturday, the 31st--a mini meet maybe? (some pics pg 2)

I have it on good authority (like almost from the Castle itself) that both Belle and Cinderella are headed this way, direct from WDW (yep, WDW ) for an afternoon of 'Meet & Greet' at Orland Park Mall, to promote the soon to be released, Princess Diaries 2

They are supposed to be there from 12 noon until 4:30. I was wondering if any of the folks in the area might like to get together there that afternoon (this Saturday) for a mini meet of sorts. Any thoughts? It's been awhile since we had a Chicago meet out that way here in Chicago.

Short notice, I know, but what can I say? Belle and Cinderella, winging their way north!!!!!

Radio Disney and 2 Princesses are to be at the Dominicks in East Dundee on the 31st. I think the times are 1-2:30 and they are also giving away a trip for 4 to WDW. yeah!!!!!

Hmmm...I'm not working Saturday...so it's a possibility.

Count me in! I am literally 15 minutes from the mall and we can meet up at a lot of different places there. Lets figure out how many of us will be there and maybe we can do an early lunch too. Otherwise I have to be at work at 5pm, but everyone can come see me as it is right there by the mall!

There are several restuarants right near the mall that we could meet at for lunch. (Does anyone think it will be very crowded if we don't get to the mall at noon?) I would just be bringing my DD as she is a Cinderella fanatic. I am up for anything, so long I am heading home by 4pm so I can go to work.

No way I can do the Orland one - my in-laws will be visiting for the weekend and that's too far.

But I could've done the Dundee one - except it's right during the time of a birthday party my DD has already RSVP'd for. Bummer. Guess we'll have to make up for it by planning another trip to WDW!!!

I would think any place in the mall, maybe even the food court, which generally works well, would be fine.

It will be nice to see a few of the WDW face characters up here in Chicago.

I have been hearing that the presenters are expecting people will start lining up at 10 am for this! Meeting at the food court sounds good, it just might be hard getting tables depending on what time we decide to meet up.

So who all is planning to be there? Like I said in a previous post, it will just be me and Lauren, my two year old. I am already excited about seeing her reaction to Cinderella!!!

Dan, you are right, they were in MN at the Mall of America and going to the Dells this weekend. We'd be joining them if we had the cash, but not this time.

I'd like to propose at the minimum, we meet for an early lunch (11?) in the food court. My two girls will be more manageable on full tummies. After a bite to eat, we can all head up to get in line for the Princesses. Don't really know about anything afterward, we'd have to play that by ear.

I may be able to talk the girls into wearing their Cinderella dresses I made.

We are meeting a traveling DIS'er (Megan's Mom) and her DH (they are on a driving trip and in the area for a few days) and we were planning (set a few weeks ago) on Gino's (Rolling Meadows) for lunch. This was set before I heard about the Princesses coming here from WDW. I have put a call onto her cell phone (voice mail) but have not heard back yet. I hope to tomorrow. I asked her if she wanted to go the Mall (no Gino's, LOL) or what (it's up to her). I did tell her also, on the VM, that if we still do Gino's, we will leave about 2 and head for Orland Park Mall. I do think the food court is the best. We are flexible. And Kirsten, it will be a small meet, such short notice. It will be nice to see you guys, whatever group we have.

How far is Ginos from Orland Park? If we met there for lunch and headed over to the mall, that would be ok too I think. 12-2 is normally the girls rest time, but I think they might be too keyed up for seeing the princesses for them to rest on that day. We're mostly flexible too, with Abby (being double jointed) being the most flexible of all of us.
