Hi am wondering if anyone has ever been to the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot to see the princesses. If so how are they with the kids and how is the food? This seems like it would be a very reasonable option instead of the castle to meet the princesses. I have read that Belle is even in her yellow ballgown. Is this restraunt impossible to get into too? I can't wait to go I am planning along time in advance and I am bursting at the seams to go on my first visit to the world any tips and advice would be appreciated

I cant say that I liked the food, but the princess are great. They all talk to you sign your book if you would like. I have never had a problem getting in.

Hope this helps

Sarah

We love the princess meals in Norway. I actually think the foos is pretty good and we always have great service. You generally get 5 princesses and yes, Belle in her ballgown greeted us this past trip. We also had Cinderella, Mulan, Jasmine, and Ariel. I think for the Princesses you get its a fabulous deal and the food is much better than the castle. You can usually get in too so its not the major ordeal that CRT is. We love it here and will go back again in August.. maybe for Breakfast this time just to mix it up

had lunch there recently.. the pasta akershus was awesome. best chicken i've had in a super long time.

We had breakfast there last september ad loved it the food was great and we also got some great pictures

We've had both breakfast and lunch in Norway with the Princesses. We liked the breakfast food way better. The princess interaction has been excellant each of our four trips. We've only seen Belle in her blue dress, but she's been at both breakie and lunch. Ariel was only at lunch. We've only seen Cindy there once and that was lunch. We've also seen Jasmine, Snow, Mary Poppins, Mulan, and Sleeping Beauty

Hi,
We had dinner here two weeks ago and it was fab - actually it was our favourite meal at Disney. We met Cindrealla, Jasmine, Ariel, Aurora and Belle. I didn't think the princess interaction was as good as some of the other character meals but the food was fab!! The Pasta Akershus was gorgeous and my mum who eats a dairy free diet was catered for perfectly by Dan the chef!! I can't recommend this restaurant enough. We made our ADRs 2 months prior to going and got our pick of times!! Oh and btw the desserts were fab too!!

Claire.

We love eating here but we prefer the breakfast food. We did do lunch twice though just to see Ariel (she's usually scheduled for lunch and dinner while Belle in her yellow gown is usually scheduled for breakfast, subject to change of course)

We really enjoyed the Princesses at Akershsus. The Princess interaction was great. My girls were dressed up as Snow White and Ariel. Ariel was telling my daughter that she is such a beautiful Ariel. It made my DD's day to see all their favorite Princesses.
As for the food, we did not find it bad at all. I was worried and prepared everyone that the food may not be that great. We were pleasantly surprised that the food was good! We especially enjoyed the cold buffet bar.
You will have a blast!

I think the food is actually good and the princesses are all fabulous! They all spent time with my daughters and there was none of that 'rushed' feeling you sometimes get with some of the other character meals.

Thanks for everyone's replies. We'll be going to the PSB breakfast in August. Everyone's pictures are really cute!! My DGD is 4 1/2 and I know she is going to love this.:thumbsup2

We had breakfast there last Sunday. The food was tasty- the cinnamon rolls on the buffet were fantastic! The service was not that great- our waiter seemed flustered- maybe he was kind of new? Took a long time to get refills, and we needed another platter of food- there were 7 of us, and the platter has enough eggs for maybe 4?
As far as princesses, there was Belle in her yellow gown in the lobby, Mulan, Jasmine, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty. Maybe because it was the midle of the breakfast time (9:45), but they were really rushing thru. They did give us time for pictures and autographes, but not alot of interaction. My DD and niece were dressed as Cinderella and Snow White, and they did comment on that. DD and DN were on :cloud9:, and that is what really matters!
Overall, I think as long as DD is a princess nut, we will try again. Maybe lunch next time? It does beat standing in line for 45 minutes to meet them at Toontown, Ariels Grotto, or finding them in WS! Good Luck!

My dd6(birthday meal) and myself ate here last week for dinner. The food was fantastic! I had salmon and it was wonderful. My dd had the grilled chicken breast and ate every bite. The dessert plate was wonderful. I even tried some "new" things from the appatizer bar- peppered herring and smoked slamon- they were both very good. The princesses seemed a little rushed- but gave enough time to take apic or tow and talk to the birthday girl. I did see many people turned away for no ADRs!! shame shame shame!!! We will definately eat here again!
During this meal I was a little "mad"! The cute little girl beside me got up to use the restroom at the end of her meal. While she was gone the server brought her a bag filled with goodies and a certificate for YOAMD- it was a magical moment- she NEVER returned to the table! how I wanted to reach over and take it!!! Why wasn't it us? No extra magic this trip at all.

We had dinner here. The food was good. Not the best we had while at Disney. I think that was more my opinion than any thing else. My friend really enjoyed it.

The princess interaction is fabulous. :cloud9: All of the little girls in our party were in heaven. The princesses were even good with the boys.

I have never done CRT. My brother and his family did. They were not happy with the interaction. Cinderella is the only princess there. However, they said the food was great.

We are trying Cinderella's Gala Feast at the GF in Sept. I hope we enjoy it as much.princess:

We went for breakfast because I did not think the girls would eat the lunch or dinner offerings.

We had the first seating at 8:35 and it was great! The food was good, a platter of bacon and eggs, sausage, potatoes and biscuits. There was a buffet with cured meats, cheeses and lox, bagels, pastries and fresh fruits.

The princesses were amazing with the girls. We were seated in the back left of the restaurant by the kitchen, there is a door there that the princesses come out of so we saw them right away.

Belle was in the lobby taking pictures, we also saw Aurora, Mulan and Ariel. Once the 3 year old saw Ariel she was beside herself..I mean this kid had on her Ariel shorts and tee set, Ariel pins all over her lanyard and a plush Ariel doll. The Ariel Princess spent so much time with her, it was wonderful.

If I took our nieces on another trip I would make it a point to eat here again but for just DH and I, we would skip it....he gets shy around strange women :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have never done CRT. My brother and his family did. They were not happy with the interaction. Cinderella is the only princess there.

that's only true of dinner. and i'm sure they were notified as such when they booked it

Ate there for lunch 2 weeks ago - good princess interaction with Belle in front in her ballgown. DD6's favorite thing about her whole trip was meeting Sleeping Beauty. Cold buffet was good - DS9 nearly made a meal there alone. Entrees had enough variation to suit picky DD6, 'grown-up' DS9, DW and myself. About $100 for us incl. t&t. The photo with Belle is another $31 - take the pic yourself and save the money.
