Princess tea party

Hi! I was wondering if anyone could give me a review of the princess tea party for the fantasy 7 day western Caribbean cruise? We are cruising September 28-October 5th. And if I maybe could see a few pictures ? My daughter is 5 about to be 6 and is FULLYI immersed in the magic. She doesn’t understand they aren’t real. When she sees them here dressed up for Halloween or at events she thinks they came from Disney world to visit. It will break my heart once she realizes the truth. Honestly I don’t think she understands their are people inside the Mickey characters either yet I love the innocence. ANYWAY. ....she is turning 6 the week we get back from cruise and I was thinking of doing tea party for her gist from us but with it being sooooo expensive I want to make sure it is worth the cost. Also I saw parents are an additional fee. Is it something we have to participate in as well or can we be on lookers and just let her? We are first time cruisers and I know NOTHING about what to expect. Thank you so much!!

Hi there -
If your budget allows, I would definitely do the Royal Tea - I took my girls last summer (8 and almost 4) and they both really enjoyed it. There are nice finger foods and desserts with a show and meet and greet with 3 princesses. She also will come home with a bunch of goodies - a new doll, jewelry box, and jewelry for the box.

At least one adult must participate with a child (edited to say - participate and pay)- I took my daughters without my husband because he wasn't super interested in it and we were seated with another mom and her two daughters.

One adult must accompany a child. And pay. We did it once, and will do it only once. It's very pricey.

An okay experience (in my eyes). Food wasn't spectacular, but my daughter enjoyed it. You get a few gifts from the princesses too. The picture with the 3 of them is the best souvenir as it's rare to get a photo with 3 princesses at once!

The tea party is really theatre. The food is not the point. There are 4 princesses and two characters, with a lot of interaction, photo opps, and singing/dancing by the characters. One adult must attend with the child, and must pay.

Don't go hungry and don't expect this to be about the food.

The gifts for the child include a nice doll, jewelry, a jewelry box, an autograph book, and you also get a custom Shutters photo folio of the picture of the child with the princesses.

We did it on the Fantasy when my DD was 9 and on the Wonder when she was 10. She absolutely loved it. She would love to do it again. If the gifts were completely different on each ship, I might do it again on our upcoming Magic cruise, but we don't need more of the same doll, etc. (her autograph books and jewelry boxes were different each time though). If you do choose to do it, I would recommend doing Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique earlier that day before the tea. I have watched the Disney Store online and bought princess dresses when they are on sale and bring it with us so we can do the cheapest BBB package to save some money. We also did the princess meet and greet the morning of the tea and the princesses remembered my daughter from the meet and greet at the tea. It was all very magical.

We did it on our 2nd Fantasy cruise. Trip report in my signature, if you want to know how it goes--I think I pretty well walked through it. My then-4 year old loved it, and now (5 and a half) still talks about it when she sees her Cinderella doll and the photo and other things. The ages ranged pretty widely. It was mostly moms & daughters, not a lot of people had 2 parents with them.

There was a group on my cruise with 8 GROWN UPS and 2 kids, one of whom did NOT want to be there. It was quite an impressive show of spending money.
