I would love to have a princess tea party for my dd's birthday in early November. Our home is too small to have more than a few people over and I've been racking my braing trying to think of an affordable place to have this.
Unfortunately, it will be too chilly to have anything outside.

I know some of you have had princess parties for your little ones, do you have any suggestions for me? We did a pool party last year at the YMCA that was affordable, but we don't want to have a pool party again since we have some neat activities planned for the tea party & thought all the little girls could dress like princesses (if they want to).

Any ideas at all?

Do you have a paint your own pottery place near you ?

Each little girl was asked to bring a teacup for their "apple juice" tea
and they let me bring in food. Then, each girl painted a teacup to take home.
Actually, I had to deliver them after they were fired which took about a
week. You could turn this into a princess tea party. I think it was about
$8 per child for the cup. My daughter still uses her special cup.

That is a really cute idea! I think there is one of those nearby.. I've never been there, but I will definitely make a phone call :)
Thanks!

last weekend I did a really small tea party with sleepover for my soon to be 9yr old. She invited 4 friends, and she & dd6 made 6 kids total. We did 3 arts/crafts -decorated hats with ribbon and flowers( $1 each hat from Michaels) decorated purses($1 felt purses from target dollar section, bucket of felt stickers $6) and decorated their own picture frame. After their crafts were done I had them get dressed for the dinner with dessert tea party to follow. As they dressed in their party dresses, I set the table with nice table cloth, flowers, I even made them a menu with a couple of food selections for dinner. I made shirley temples or cokes- in wine glasses (my glass ones, not crystal-but they didn't know!) Then I helped them with makeup, hair, and hats! I took group and individual pictures. (to be used later!)

I took their order like a waitress and served them their dinner. I put on a movie while I cleaned the table then set the table for tea. I used my cake plate and a tier dessert tray for 'presentation'. I had mini cupcakes, brownies, oreos, grapes, strawberries, rice crispie treats. For drinks I used my coffee carafe for apple juice and my porcelein tea pot for iced green tea. They still stirred their 'tea', poured imaginary cream and hefted imaginary sugar into their cups. They really had a great time- and boy did it save me $- I normally do a party which costs about $400 in buildabear, iceskating etc. But my 9 yr old said it was the best ever and while it was a LONG party, I think the kids loved it. I printed each girl their picture and placed it in a frame and used one of the group shots and made a candy wrapper with that picture on it. I wrapped it around a hershey bar, added a small lipgloss in a small gift bag and put those in their purses. So each girl went home with a bonnet, frame/picture, purse with a candy bar and lip gloss. Total cost was about $40! And it could be done in a small home as long as the dining area is separate from the bedroom and tv room-
