Princess Sydney's Magical Wish Trip Report ~ Aug 7-18

A new update popped up in my email and it was from the 27th of Feb. I loved the BBB story. It sounds as if the MK day was truely magical. I can't wait to read more! I love that your husband surprised you with a new camera! :yay::woohoo::yay:

Hi! I'm still here! We took the kids on vacation and returned home to a computer with no Internet connection. It's been down for weeks now. Our new computer arrives next week hopefully. It's actually been pretty unsettling lately as theres something going on with me that the dr can't figure out . When we just got back from vacation, I was brought in to emerg and given an MRI fir possible stroke. I'm ok. The MRI showed nothing thank God but there is still something going on. I've been off work for a bit just becaus of headaches and dizziness ... Hoping it settles soon. I think about Sydney's trip report almost every day. I still plan to finish it but staring at a screen is hard these days. I need to do it little bits at a time. :-)

Thanks Judy. I'm thankfully feeling quite well these days. Most of the symptoms seem to have passed except when I'm overtired or hungry. I do have a neurology apptmt scheduled for mid August so hopefully things remain uneventful until then.

Many things going on here. I've decided to take a leave of absence from work. Actually, truth be known, I've wanted to do this since I returned to work after my mat leave with Caiden. Sydney's illness truly made me realize where I needed to be and Caiden was born during the diagnosis and first year after that. I took a one year mat leave and altho I love my job, it was hard to some back after that leave. We couldn't afford for me to give up work and quite honestly, DH viewed it as 'underemploying' myself. He has since come to understand that this is soemthing I need to do. My leave was approved a month ago and will start mid June. I'll be off until Caiden is in school full time. He turns 4 in September and will start school but its only half day. Sydney will also be in half days and since that basically means only 2.5hrs an afternoon, I'll have lots of time with my babies. I'll get to volunteer in their school several times a week in the afternoon and the other afternoons I'll get some chores done. I plan to stay off til CJ is in full time which should be grade 1 so 2012 (although our province is moving to full day kindergarten bit by bit so there's no guarantee that his school won't go full day before that... if so, I'll return to work early). The kids are excited but it means letting our nanny go who has been with us since Lucas was one. They will surely miss her but she lives close by so hopefully she'll stay in touch with them.

As for other things, Sydney starts figure skating next month. Its all she's talked about. While I think she's a bit young (not even 5 1/2 yet), she has a knack for it and truly loves it and wants to do it. Honestly, I think its the girly dresses she likes but we'll know soon enough if that's all it is LOL. Caiden is growing like a weed and will definitely be our child that pushes the limits. I was out one evening and DH walked into the kitchen as he had been on the phone with his mom. Found Caiden standing on a chair, blender cover off, milk all over the counter, with tomatos and mushrooms on the counter reaching for a knife :scared1:. When asked what he was doing, as calm as can be, he looked at his dad and said "Making a smoothy!" Sigh. I swear, he'll be my child that calls one night and tells me he hopped on a plane and is now in Austria snow boarding. Lucas is doing awesome as well. Loves being goalie for his hockey team and has asked to train during the summer so we found a camp that he'll hopefully like.

I've started really looking at the Disboutique thread again. Everyone was so generous with Sydney's Big Give that I'd really like to get involved. I'd also like to start doing some outfits for the kids for our next trip (hopefully in October for our first halloween trip if DH can get the time off work). I love to sew and have made many costumes for the kids but they've all been furry. I've never made a dress or anything as dainty as that so I don't know how it will go. I also found there's a Joann's at a border town about an hour from here... but I need to find out how to start ... patterns, fabric, etc. I may post on their thread for some beginner advice ... maybe I'll have time in the fall to do something with it.... or during the evenings in the summer.

Our computer is finally working again (altho I'm posting at work right now ;)) I still don't have pics transferred over onto the working computer but I'm working on it. I was looking at them last night and finishing Sydney's trip report is one of the must do's on my list before I'm on leave with the children.
