So this is my first time going to Disney. YAY! The friends I'm going with have given me choice of supper one night, and I can't decide between Princess Storybook and Cap'n Jack's. Anyone got reviews for me? Or even a link that can send me in the right direction? Thanks!!!

First off I just want to say :welcome: to the DIS.

Now for your question, we had never dined at Akershus for dinner, we only go for Breakfast. The dinner menu never really appealed to us. But as for Akershus the restuarant, it is really very nice inside it is like being in a medieval castle and the princess interaction is absolutely wonderful. If you have little girls you will definitely want to go there. As for Captn' Jacks. We have eaten there a couple of times and it has been a couple times too many for us. We just do not like the atmosphere and the service is sub par, at least the couple of times that we have been there. Plus we were not too enthused with the food there as well.

A big :welcome: from me, too!!!

My family gets really into the theming of the restaurants, so we try to always go places that are unlike what you can find in the *real* world. My take is that Cap'n Jacks is more like a regular ol' restaurant you could go to anywhere, whereas Akershus is a true Disney original, full of theming! I would pick Akershus for your first visit, assuming the menu looks okay to everyone.

Good luck, and keep posting!!! ;)

Thank you all for the wonderful welcome! I'm sooooo excited!! I wish December could come 'round again already!! :dance3:

That makes my decision so much easier! Thank you!! Askershus it is!!

Akershus gets my vote over Captain jacks been to both. You have some Disney fun going on Akershus and you'll take home a wonderfull photo to remember forever. Breakfast and dinner were very good at Akershus.

Anyone know if there are any Germanesque restaurants? One of my party is debating on a bratwurst one night.

No to Capt'n Jacks! I ate there 1 time, and we just felt that it was a waste of money. The food choices were limited and it really seemed like a microwave dinner on a nice plate.

Biergarten in Germany you can get a brat, pretzels etc, without sitting down in the main restaurant. The restaurant has a German buffet.

At Epcot, in the World Showcase (that's the area where they have all the different countries), there is a sit-down restaurant in "Germany" called Biergarten. As the previous poster said, it's a German buffet, and they have all sorts of sausages and German food. I haven't eaten there (yet!), but it usually gets good reviews. People here say it's a lot of fun. One thing is, they have big huge tables, so your party ends up sitting with other parties. If that doesn't bother your gang, maybe you guys should give it a try!

Thanks so much, all of you!!! Y'all are so amazing! Hope your adventures in Disney are as grand as mine will be (have no doubt of that!!!)! =]]]
