I'm sure this has been asked before so I'm sorry if it's a duplicate. DD's are huge princess fans. We already have 2 character bkfsts planned (Chef Mickey and Crystal Palace) and I honestly don't want to throw in any more and waste my mornings.....on eating. I would like to take them either to the Princess Storybook lunch or dinner in Epcot OR to 1900 Park Fare. The food in Norway does NOT seem appealing....maybe it's just me? I love the idea of seeing SOOO many princesses at once. I think my girls would be in heaven! However 1900 Park Fare menu looks much better.

Any thoughts on either? Which would you do? Was the Norway food fairly good? Dh is not going to be a happy camper to eat with a bunch of princesses AND get a nasty meal. haha So I've got to keep him happy too! IF we don't go to 1900 Park Fare, any other opportunities to meet Cinderella or is that the only way (aside from CRT which we're NOT doing...don't want to use up 2 TS credits on that one and I understand that she doesn't stop to pose with you at the table, etc)

THANKS!!!

Well, I haven't been to the Storybook Princess yet, but we're going in October for dinner, so I'm interested in seeing what people have to say about that.

We went to 1900 Park in 2001 so I don't know how it is now but we enjoyed it then. Especially since we had never been to GF before. The food was good at breakfast time with made to order omlettes. The characters were neat because you didn't see a lot of them elsewhere. My girls loved meeting Mary Poppins at the time.

Whatever you decide I hope you have a great trip.

I personally would do Norway. I did brkfst at park faire, and lunch in norway on our last trip. The princess' interaction in Norway is awesome, and really you dont get alot of princess' at park faire. The food in Norway in my opinion was good. The cold buffett had lots of meats and cheeses on it, and salads...and there was a few dishes that were neutral enough to please most I would think!

If you want the most princesses for your buck, you should do Akershus. Though my salmon there was not good (way overcooked), the dessert is great and we liked the experience overall.

We just had dinner at 1900 Park Faire for the first time about 10 days ago. This was the very worst service we ever had at WDW--so horrible. It seemed that other servers were better than ours, though, so we were just unlucky. The food was better than Akershus, but the lousy service soured it for us. And the problem there is that if you want lots of princesses, you will not get them. It's really more of a silly place because the stepsisters are yelling and screaming and goofing around. You do get the prince, which my DD liked though!

If you want to meet Cinderella but aren't doing CRT or 1900 PF, you can always go to the line in Toontown.

I have done both several times and prefer 1900 Park Fare's food. If you have any Cinderella fans, this is the meal for you! The whole crew is there, Prince Charming, the stepsisters and Lady Trumaine and I think Fairy Godmother as well. I like the different buffet stations.

Now all that said, for princess variety, Norway is better. It is also nice that they come to you, so that you aren't worrying about missing anyone at the buffet. Although the way they do the characters at 1900, you can pretty much be safe to get up to fill your plate and not miss anyone (they go in a uniform fashion around the restaurant).

I don't much care for the food at Princess Storybook, I have eaten dinner there twice and lunch once. But that is just my personal taste. I do have to say the desserts are amazing! However, you can get those at the cs bakery next door which is what I do now.

If you need more than just Cinderella, go with Norway. If Cinderella and her crew alone will fit the bill, the huge selection of food at 1900 is very nice.

I think you are making a wrong call on the breakfast. The breakfast at Akershus - Princess Storybook Breakfast is off the chain! We make an annual pilgrimage to visit the World. The only ADR that we are repeating is the Princess Storybook Breakfast. It is great. Food is good, the character interaction can't be beat and you get a photo.

Can anyone tell me what makes the interaction at Norway so great? I ask this b/c from what I've read, it's fairly good at Park Fare, too...with the opprotunity to dance with Cinderella and Prince Charming (we'd be doing dinner there, FYI, not bkfst). So just wondering what is outstanding about the interaction at Norway? Which princesses are usually there? DD is a huge Ariel fan, although I doubt she'd be a mermaid, eh? And she loves Belle as well.

THIS is awsome to know. I didn't realize Cinderella was there, too. Is she there all the time/all day or only specific times? Meeting Cinderella is a MUST so I'm glad to know if we don't do 1900pf or CRT that the girls can still meet her. (Mommy, too! :rotfl: )

Hmmm, maybe I should rethink things? I really want to take them to Crystal Palace to see Pooh and friends and Chef Mickey to see the gang there. So maybe I should change CM to dinner or something? (I hear Crystal Palace is awsome at bkfst so I don't want to switch that to dinner if I can avoid it.)

we have done both over the years. dd enjoyed both but I preferred the food at 1900. I did think the breakfast at Akershus was nice also but I did feel rushed. Over the years we have celebrated birthdays at 1900 with the chocolate glass slipper and listened to the piano player out in the lobby while the girls danced in the princess gowns. It really made the evening for us much more special.

First let me say if I had to choose one, Norway would be it. We did
both in June. Our food in Norway was very good, Park Fare just o.k. Everyone's tastes are different though. As far as dancing with Cindy/PC, our experience was that only the center tables nearest to the buffet got that opportunity. Although we were close to that area, we did not. The pictures at Norway were a big plus too. (Photo in my signature is from there.):)

Just as a general comment. In the 5 character meals we did, most of the time character interaction consisted of - Saying hi, signing autograph book, posing for a couple of pics and moving on. They were all very nice, but as an adult you definitely knew they had things to do, people to see.;) Also, there were exceptions to this. Chip and Dale at Garden Grill were amazing!!, even took DD around the restaurant with them! Pluto and Lilo at 'Ohana were extra attentive as well. Just know each experience can be different, the kids will love it no matter what. My DD loved each and every one regardless!

We found the best interaction with Ariel (she was at our Norway dinner as well), was at her grotto by the Dumbo ride. We were first in line one morning and DD got to have quite a nice conversation with her. I would also agree with the idea to see the princesses in Toon Town. If you can't go there very late, I suggest you be at their rope drop at 10 a.m. We were the second group in line and when we got out the wait was 60 minutes! She got some nice one on one time there too.

Hope you have a wonderful trip!:goodvibes

Have you considered booking a late breakfast at Norway? We have a 10:25 ADR for our upcoming trip and plan to consider it our lunch. My kids never turn their noses up at breakfast food & I'm a pretty picky eater so lunch and dinner were out for us;) !

We had dinner at both 1900 Park Fare and Akershus last year and have rebooked both for this year. 1900 has changed to a buffet from when we were there, but the food from what I understand is still decent. Our entire family loved the food at Akershus also, which is why we are going back. When we were there the princesses were Belle, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Jasmine, Alice, Ariel and Snow White. Earlier that afternoon while going through the different nations we got to meet Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore, Alice, Mary Poppins, Peter Pan and Wendy all at one nation, Belle and the Beast at another, Mulan and Mushu in China, along with others. That was just on the WS side. You should have no problem running into characters, or specifically Princesses, as you visit all the parks. As far as picking which place to dine we can't do it so we go to both! :)

We are big princess fans in our family too - we loved Akershus for breakfast. I think you should consider breakfast - a late breakfast is a good idea!

I think if your girls are major Cinderella fans (which mine are not), then 1900 would be a good choice. If you want to see a LOT of princesses at one time - do Akershus.

We ate breakfast at PF and had dinner at Norway just a couple of weeks ago. I can't tell you about PF's dinner, but the breakfast was good. The characters were attentive. But, Norway's princesses were awesome. They really interacted well with the girls and spent quite a bit of time with them. Both my husband and I thought the food was good. I had the lamb stew, DH had the pork shank, DD-11 had the chicken, DD-6 had pizza, and DD-1 had a hot dog. While it wasn't my absolute favorite of the meals, I can't imagine going back to WDW and not eating there! Just last night, my DH and I were talking about our favorite meals, and this one is consitently on his list of must do agains. And the desert was wonderful!!! Our server was great, too. One of the best we had our whole trip.

THANKS everyone......many suggested a late bkfst at Norway. I thought they only served from 8-1030a? If I took a 1020aADR, for example, I assume they food and characters keep going till everyone is done? hmm, not a bad idea. And then we'er set all the way till dinner. I like it! I juts thought it ended at 1030a.

You are RIGHT ON!! Don't count out the Princess Storybook BREAKFAST...this is one ADR we wil def. be repeating!!! Great buffet and princess encounters. We LOVED it!!! Beautiful restaurant, too....

My family much prefers 1900 Park Fare. The food is much better. And we had repeated character interaction there, with the characters spending plenty of time with us. Akershus seemed more rushed to us. And the food (lunch) was a little bland.
