We just returned this past Saturday and one of the meals that we were looking forward to especially since we had done it in the past was the Princess Storybook Breakfast. The food was great, but when we got our check I almost fell in the floor. This was a meal that we paid out of pocket since we were staying at the Dolphin and couldnt have the DDP. The total for four, one of which is only 11 and eats like a bird, was 165.83. I could not believe it. I checked all of the prices for all of our meals on both disboards and allears.net and they both said that this meal was 22.99. Upon leaving, I called Disney Dining to clarify the price and they said no, it is 32.99 per person. I have never paid so much for eggs, nor would I have unless on the dining plan. I am not complaining about the meal, it was delicious, I just budgeted out what meals would come to and was shocked and thought I would post a heads up for anyone else in the future who may be under the impression that the meal was only 22.99.

Oh my, I did see it posted that is was going up to 28.99. I am glad you posted about this, i am trying right now to decide on this breakfast or to cancel. I had knowing if something came up that AM, we couldn't cancel because we would get charged.

so undecided.
I am on the ddp but would still have to pay for 8 people tax and gratuity on the 32.99...yikes for eggs, I am not so sure.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I think I would have fallen over too with the price especially when your expecting one price and there is another.

I believe the new price reflects the "holiday" surcharge on meals from Memorial Day - July 4...maybe someone else knows for sure.

"Holiday" pricing is effect on all buffets from May 25 through July 5. That is why you saw the increased price.

I do belive that is the case, but I did see there was a price increase , i have it as 28.99 and I am going in Sept?!?!?

Is this really worth this?

There has been an increase in food prices across the board due to rising fuel charges, and the yes the holiday surcharge is in effect at all buffets from May 25 till July 5th .

Don't they factor in the photo cost as well? I think it's weird just because you get one photo package per group. Not per person. Oh well, we are still going anyway & paying OOP. DD is really looking forward to breakfast.

I looked on allears and under menus it has the price listed as $22.99 adults and $12.99 child

however....

in their dining news section is does note that as of April 27, 2008 a photo package will be included and the cost will be $28.99 adult and $12.99 child.

I'm glad I found this now, I would have had sticker shock too! I was going by the price on the menu.

I looked all allears.net and disboards for prices on all meals but I guess I must have overlooked the whole holiday thing since I wasnt assuming that it was actually a holiday, but that does make since. The meal itself was great but I just wasnt expecting the bill that we got. At the "normal" price I think that it would be worth it. We had done this meal about 4 years ago and loved it, that is why we did it again. The 22.99 is what we were expecting to pay.

Hmm... so it's now only three or four dollars less than CRT, no? So if paying OOP I'd probably just go with CRT and eat in the castle. On the DDP it's still one credit though, vs two for CRT. Wonder if that will change for 2009?

Wow, makes me glad only DD and I are having breakfast there.

After DS said he wouldn't be caught dead at a Princess Breakfast, I got DH to agree to take him somewhere else so we could save some money. I'm sure glad I did.
