Princess Storybook Breakfast @ Akershus

I know, we are planning this trip last minute (going this November -- Thanksgiving week - ack!) and getting some reservations is going to be tough, if not a miracle in itself! The ONE meal that my 5 year old wants the most is the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus. However, there are non available all week! I've subscribed to the November reservations cancellation thread here on Dis, but anyone know any other tips to help me out? Do I just need to constantly check? Silly me had to go an open my mouth and tell her all about it before booking it... grrr....

Keep checking everyday and watch the cancellation thread. I was able to snag a breakfast CRT ressie 2 days ago for our upcoming September trip. In addition, it seems that the cancellation threads produce more and more opportunity as the time gets closer. I have seen a ton of success stories on this board in terms of highly coveted reservations far from the 180 day mark.

Keep checking as often as you can. People will cancel when plans change since Akershus has the credit card guarantee. Since cancellations go back into the system almost immediately, it's a matter of luck that you're checking when a cancellation re-enters the ADR system.

If you are an odd numbered group, you can try adding one to check for an even number since tables are mainly 2-4-6-etc tops. Do not try for a table size smaller than your entire group however.

Be flexible in the date, time and meal. You might have better luck trying for less popular times such as a late breakfast, rather than first thing in the morning. Or try for lunch or dinner.

Update!!!!
So I called yesterday (again) to check for openings, and the automated part of the call kept telling me nothing available, so out of frustration, talked to a CM. This was THE BEST THING I DID! She checked for the week of Thanksgiving, but couldn't find any breakfast reservations open. However, she did find a lunch opening for Thanksgiving! I was reluctant to take it, as the lunch and dinner menus don't interest us much (especially the kids). Then she proceeded to tell me that it's listed as a Thanksgiving lunch! I quickly googled it to find that they have turkey and trimmings.. in addition to their other menu items! I took it! So now we will be eating our thanksgiving meal (lunch) at Akershus! Woo Hoo!

Somebody please tell me that this is still a character meal....
