I called WDW today to book some character-themed meals for our upcoming trip and the Cast member who booked the meals for me suggested I think about buying tickets to Magic Kingdom's Princess & Pirate Festival. He told me that The Festival will be running after the park closes starting in Jan., 2007 and running through 'til Mar., 2007. The two evenings that the festival will be running (during our trip to WDW) are 2/12/07 & 12/15/07 from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Has anyone bought tickets to this event yet? I wanted a little bit more information on the event before I splurge on tickets. The tickets ran about $39.00 per person (ages 10 and up). Does anyone have anymore information on this event and what types of activities Magic Kingdom will be running during the event?

Thanks in advance for any information you can offer me.

Kathy :)

It must be the new Pirates and Princess hard ticket event in the Magic Kingdom. It would be similar I assume to MNSSHP or MVMCP only with a P & P theme. We are planning on attending and I think it will be very popular.

We're planning to go on 2/8. My son LOVES pirates so I knew we had to sign up for it. From what I saw on WDW.com they have a treasure hunt, games and other fun stuff. I'm looking forward to it. I relaly need to get those reservations.

Thank you so much everyone....and for that link TikiGoddess! I bought tickets for the four of us for 2/12! How is Orlando's weather at night during that time year. Will we need our winter coats?

Kathy :)

No problem! This will be our first January trip, but I hear it's usually a little chilly at night. Our boys will be dressed as pirates and their costumes are pretty warm so they should be okay. Princesses might be a little chilly though. Awesome picture of being marshalls! How did you get picked? That looks like it is a blast!

We've got tickets for the first night Jan 22nd. I'm so excited. We've only gone to the world once and it was in Feb. so there was nothing offered. This should be a lot of fun.

We were told that we were picked because they needed a family of four (although a family of three would work I guess) to fit comfortably inside the motor car and they liked how the kids faces were painted (look at my Avatar). Unfortunately, between the time we were asked to be in the parade and the actual start of the parade my kids visited the "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" playground and somebody shot water right into my son's face. He was so upset that his face paint was messed up. I eventually took him into a bathroom to try and fix it but there was no hope. :sad2: We had to wash it all off. Being in the parade cheered him up though. Before the parade started we were escorted behind the scenes where all the motor cars line up and my kids go to go up to each of their favorite characters to get a picture with them.

We have a plaque hanging on our wall singed by Mickey himself which was given to us after the parade ended. It was a real amazing moment for our first time at Disney! :thumbsup2

Kathy :goodvibes

P.S. I am thinking I should go buy my son a Pirates of the Caribbean costume Wed. at the Disney Store (for half off) in preparation of our Pirate & Princess party! :thumbsup2

The weather really can vary here in Florida. Last week is was very chilly at night and now it's pretty warm again. Sometimes we wear shorts on Christmas day, once or twice now we've woken up to ice all over the house and snow just making it to the ground. I would pack accordingly, bring a jacket and rent a locker that way you'll be prepared. They may even have special sweatshirts for the event and you may want to purchase those. Have fun!

We are going the first night as well. I was going to wait and do it on 3/4 (or whichever day was closest - I can't remember) for DDs birthday but I decided I wanted to see what it was all about from the start!
