Princess Pavillon Fast Pass

If they don't put up machines I still agree with what was posted here - they are just moving the lines from the Pavillion to the hand out area at the Old Mill.

Have there been some reports how long the queues there are? I mean the queues to pick up the tickets. Do people line up early for that a well?

Yesterday queues were about 5-10 mins during EMH and about 10-15 mins during the later times. The actual time waiting in the PP once you had a ticket was about 10-15 mins. So, it does seem better for those that of us who would have to queue in that loooong queue otherwise.

However, without being too pessimistic, it is early days and like I said earlier, people often don't 'catch' on to what they are meant to do straight away. The real test will be once people are au fait with the way it works. As yes, in reality, queues (particularly the later collection times) could be quite lengthy.

Have to say, from a personal pov, it is great that they are allowing people to get tickets during EMH. It's another little bonus for those that pay a premium to stay in the Disney hotels (or buy an AP). :thumbsup2

So is it like the other fast passes in that there's a queue for those with no fast passes and those that have or do you only get in if you have a fast pass?

you only get in with one of the fast passes currently.

It's not moving the queue as it takes a lot less time to pick up a ticket then it does to visit a princess.

If the average visitor spends about 3 minutes with a Princess, and it took about 30 seconds to pick up a FP ticket, the queue for the tickets should be 1/6th of the size it would be for the pavilion.

Sorry, I should have made myself more clear. I wasn't referring to the queue inside the Pavillion. I meant the queue that forms before the Pavillion opens. So basically speaking, people lining up early. I was wondering if the same happens now, just to get the tickets. If they announce CMs appearing at certain times I was thinking that could happen in the very same form.

I think this is a good idea and could really work well.

As someone else said its not moving the queue as they encourage only one person in the family to queue to get the tickets so there will be less people in line anyhow (obviously this wont work with a single parent with children) and the tickets will be given out quickly- much quicker than the time it takes to take photos and have an autograph with the princess.

The fact they have 3 time slots to give out tickets means that those who dont get EMH or get to the park late can still collect the tickets later on - I assume they have so many per session.
Hopefully there will be a CM monitoring the numbers left so they can then close the queue if they are getting low.

When I first started going to DLP they had a similar system for collecting tickets to watch the Lion King show and it was an orderly roped off line.

It still means you dont know which Princess you will meet but Ive never thought that was a problem. Ive said on other threads that it was always like that in that you may see Cinderella there when you join the queue but by the time you got to the front of the queue she would have been replaced by Snow White and then by Belle who you saw yesterday. So you ran the risk of queuing to meet the same Princess again anyhow.

I think that a "Fast Pass" is a great idea for the Pavillon because mostly there are very young children who have to wait quite a long time to see a princess.

My two daughters really love the princess and I´m a little bit panic thinking about standing in line again and again to see them.

So I´m thinking about a dinner at the Auberge but it´s a lot of money.

Which Princess did you see there and would it be an alternative to the Pavillon ?

any idea why they are only doing it 19th-30th oct? we arrive lunchtime on the 30th and after checking in have lunch booked in cafe mickey. doubt there will be any tickets left by then for the fastpass. where do you get the tickets from? I can see me having to queue with my 5year old daughter, we queued for an hour to see them when we went 2 years ago and she was only 3 then and didnt moan once bless her. she really wants to see ariel, cinderella, jasmine or repunzel this time as she saw tiana snow white and belle last time. So annoying theres no way of finding out who is on before you start queueing. my husband said that last time we went you could ask in the city hall that morning which princesses where going to be doing the meet and greet and they would give you the two that would be there but would just be rotating every half hour. Would city hall tell you who was going to be there this time or do they not do that now?

we too arrive on 30th at dinner time, What does everyone think will happen after the trail period??

I think it sounds a great idea my DD loves princesses and I have to say i would be joiniung that hour long queue (aswell as dining in Auberges) so hopefully if the trail is deemed a sucess they will contiue it:confused3:confused3

Can I just check where do you collect the tickets? some one mentioned 3 tickets places/??

LW - You collect tickets next to the Old Mill, not far from the PP. I think it is fairly clear when you are there.

Have to say, been reading less positive experiences with ticket collections later in the day. As was thought, the queue has been topping an hour (that is ticket collection, then time in the PP waiting). I'm not sure how busy the parks are right now - wouldn't have thought that busy as it is midweek and mid term for schools. Will be interesting to see what happens when the schools are off / weekends .

But, on the other hand, ticket collection in EMH has been very positive and the whole thing can be over in 25-30 mins (that is collection & waiting in PP).

I think it's a case of 'watch this space'.

Any updates, how has it been working out?

I haven't really read anything new - been looking but nothing much out there. Hoping there may be some more reports once people are back after Halloween trips this week (as it is on until 30th). And, I guess we will know if they are going to continue with the system.

Have to say though, if they continue, I am not sure what will happen with the EMH slot as certainly at weekends EMH is only one hour 8-9 towards the end of November and December, and I don't know if EMH is every day midweek? I'm guessing it will be a free for all then :confused3.

Wednesday during EMH there was no one..we walked past and you had 2 CMs with a handful of tickets each.

I wouldn't mind seeing the inside of the building but I have no desire to go and see a Princess....or any other character for that matter :crazy2:

Ha ha I used to be the same I didn't understand why any one would wait to meet a character when they could be on SM or BTM. Now with DD it is so different. Can't wait till she is tall enough and we are back in the thrill ride lines :yay:
