Princess Marathon kids races

Can anyone give me any more info about these. I was thinking of signing up my DD and DS. Do the kids get a medal at the end

My daughter did one this year. They get a little rubber medal at the end. It was really fun and she LOVED it, but it's a bit chaotic and unorganized waiting for the waves of runners to go.

Definitely! In fact both kids are doing the kids races at W&D. It's a great way to get them involved in the weekend.

I'm glad you posted this! I randomly decided to look into the Kids Races a few days ago and I'd like my daughter to participate. She'll be 5 at the time of the event and I think it'll be a fun way to get her involved that weekend.

Which race are you considering? Madi will either do the 200m dash or the one-miler. I'm a bit hesitant to go with the one-miler as I think it might be a bit much for her. Thoughts and opinions appreciated! TIA!

ETA: After comparing our normal route for walks or bike rides, the 200m dash is definitely the way to go for my daughter. She's all signed up now. Yay!

I was going to recommend the 200m too. Yay! I think it's such a great idea on Disney's part to include these. My (almost 4 year old) daughter talks about her previous and upcoming races every.single.day.

Aww! I love their excitement! I asked Madi last night if she'd be up for running with mama that weekend and she said,"Sure! When can I get started? When we get home I'm going to run laps around the house okay?!" And by golly, she certainly did do a few laps around the house. I can't believe it took me so long to give this some consideration.

I haven't been this focused or disciplined in a long time -- this is just what I needed to get myself in shape and on the road to a healthier lifestyle. I hope you're training is going well! I'm excited for all of us, kids included.

Yes me too...never been that interested in running until the Disney running events now I am totally motivated! I am soooo excited!

On a slightly different note, but related to this topic. Does anyone know if it's possible to run the 5k Friday and still get to the kids races the same day? My brother-in-law would like to do the 5k, but they also want to enter their son in the kids races on Friday and he would obviously want to be there for that as well.
