I know this has been mentioned occasionally but does anyone know if it's always available.
I believe it's at the DLH and that there are a variety of packages available. My niece would love it and if it's definately available then it will be her Christmas present from me. but I need to be sure it'll be available when we get there.
If anyone's DD is having it done or if you see any advertising for it or if you're staying at the DLH and could ask at Consierge I would be really grateful for any advice and whether it will be on in January.
I am going to email DLP, but not getting my hopes up too much for a reply let alone the answer, hoping that as usual a DISer will come up trumps. :thumbsup2
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. :goodvibes

Jill i go in 14 days time so i will pop into the DLH for you and find out :)

The prices were advertised in the shop in DLH when I looked and I seem to remember you paid and booked there as well.

It was very expensive for what you got - I think about £60 for the cheapest package (without dress) - but I might be wrong on that one

Thanks Emma,
I don't want to promise it to her and then find it's not available, especially as she'll have missed out on her christmas present. She's 8 and wanted a makeover party for her birthday just gone, but it was very expensive and she was given the choice between party or DSi by her mum and dad, she chose the DSi, so I thought this might like this makeover.

I think it was Suziq who came back with the prices and the cheapest option is hair and makeup only for around the £60 mark, I think the prices went upto the £200 mark for a dress to keep :scared1:
I'm sure she has plenty of Disney Princess dresses at home to choose from.;):)

I will take a photo of the prices for you Jill, i'm sure that the makeover is still avaliable but i will check for you.

When we were there end Aug/early Sept the makeover was still available - it was around £60 ish but sorry, I can't remember the rest of the prices. My DD1 asked a few times when we passed it if she could have it done but at 4 years I said no - don't like the idea of her being all 'made up' plus I do think it's v expensive for what it is. Each to their own though and if my DD1 had been 8 yrs I might have had my arm twisted :lmao:

I would of let Kyra have it done but its a waste of money because they wouldnt of been able to do nothing with her big busy afro :lmao:

We're going the week after next and my three youngest daughters are having the princess make-over. I'll find out the details and hopefully put up some piccys when I get back.

Haven't tried, perhaps I should :confused3 I'll ring tomorrow and see if it can be pre-booked. The girls are really excited about the makeover - well except for my eldest (16 yo) - she wants the cash instead :)

Well, I spoke to the shop in the DLH and apparently there is no Princess make-over until Dec 1st :sad2:

I'm sorry  hope the girls weren't too disappointed, exactly why I wanted to be sure if it's always available.
It's the one thing that annoys me about DLP, it ranks alongside releasing park hours, ride closures, pool closures. etc. in advance, they're all things that might affect when you book your holiday and just adding a disclaimer to say not all facilities will be available isn't good enough.

Thought I'd email DLP Customer Services and see if they could give me an answer as to whether this would be available during our visit as my niece has set her heart on it since I mentioned it to her and got by return the worse automated reply I've ever received from a company:

---This is an automatic response. Please do not reply---

Well no, I don't actually !
I shall give them a few days just in case someone their end finds the time to actually do their job :rolleyes1 but I'm tempted to put a complaint in writing, I really don't expect such a flippant attitude, automated or not to be sent to a paying customer from any company and especially not one as big as this.

I believe what this is "supposed" to say is:

We apologise as due to the current high volume of mails we are receiving, we may take longer to answer your query than normal. However if you would like to receive a cost estimate or make a reservation, it may be quicker to follow these instructions:

To just disregard emails because you're busy is appalling customer service because it clearly means they're deciding which they think are important and which are not.

Last time I checked, decent customer service involved treating every comment, enquiry etc with equal priority and making sure each and every one was processed.

Just an update ... I checked with the concierge at the DLH and he told me that it is no longer running and they have not been told evan if it will restart.

Sorry.

That is a shame :confused3 The whole princess makeover thing is a real money spinner ;)

Excuse me, I'm spanish, I'm not UK citizen.

I have booked a Castle Club room from 6th of December to 9th of December.

The Castle Club Management has confirmed me that the "Princess for a day" experience will be available from 1st of december (In fact, I have pre-booked it for 6th of December, at 10:00 AM).

PD: Great forum. Thanks to everyone.

Jill the princess makeover is still happening but i lost the peice of paper which had the prices on it (DOH!)

Aw thanks for checking for me Emma, I didn't realise how much she's set her heart on it until last week when she told me she couldn't decide what princess dress to take with her for it.
