We are staying at Kidani for the upcoming princess half marathon. Animal Kingdom lodge is one of the host hotels with bus service to and from the race and expo - does anyone happen to know if the bus will also pick up at Kidani?
Also - does anyone know if the buses run while the race is going on, so my husband can come meet me at the finish?
I am really excited about the race - it will be my first half marathon! :cool1:

They will pick up at Kidani as well. We stayed there for Marathon Weekend and they were doing the same thing. I believe buses run for most of the race. Check your race packet, it will lay everything out.

Ran Princess Half last year and it was a great race! Aside from being one of the ~5% of males running :)

i've done that race but never stayed at Kidani. I'm sure they pick up but you might want to call and inquire about the husband getting there. good luck and have fun!

Thanks! Good to know I won't have to hoof it over to Jambo house at 4 am!

Congrats and GOOD LUCK in the Marathon. I have just begun my training for 2013 :cheer2: :cheer2:......Glad to know the AK is a host hotel...sincethat is where we usually stay. I will be there this year until the 25th and hope to check out the expo on friday.

Congrats on your upcoming run! DH just did the marathon and I can't say for certain about your weekend, but getting around as a spectator was really challenging, even for an old Disney veteran like me. I was able to park our rental car in a lot very close to the Ticket and Transportation center at 5am and stand there (mile 8.5ish) and then hopped the resort monorail and went out to the front of Grand Floridian (mile 12). That was the easy part and I'm not sure if you follow a similiar route to the marathon.

Basically, there was no way to get to the "start/stands" at Epcot unless you went before the roads closed. They had written somewhere that you had to be there by 4am if you wanted to see the start.

Are you running with a cell phone? If not, you can sign up for your DH to get text messages at certain parts of the race. There is also a kiosk at the end of the race with cellphones to use for free if you need to call him and find each other.

The runners that did the half all seemed pretty happy with their race experience. All the spectators were not so thrilled. I've done both, and it's much more fun to be a runner!! So have patience and be sweet to your hubby as he tries to cheer you on!

I did the Princess Half last year and also stayed at Kidani. The host hotel was AKL bus did stop at Kidani and filled up to we kept going right to Epcot!

GOOD LUCK!! The race is soooo much fun!!!
