Princess Half Marathon Weekend 2025 (Feb 20-24 2025)

Be careful of relying on the monorail. I’m not sure it runs on the morning of the half for Princess. You may still be using the buses and could run into some delays due to traffic and road closures. I’ve not stayed there myself, but it is along the half route. Any of those resorts are great too.
It does not run for the shorter races but it does for the half marathons and full marathon.

For the record, the monorail has its own risks. Last year before the MW half, one of the monorails got stuck between Contemporary and TTC and had to be towed in to the stop. It backed all the other monorails up about 15 minutes. Thankfully it was early and only an issue with that one car. I have to assume they had buses on standby in case of a full monorail meltdown.

So I have changed my resort stay 3 times since booking for princess weekend. I don't know what is wrong with me but I cannot make up my mind on where I want to stay. 🤪 Not only am I driving DH nuts but I need to make the call soon, as I keep watching different resorts sell out. Right now, I am booked at Bay Lake, which is not my favorite (I don't like the long elevator waits...) but it's on the monorail, which I strongly prefer for when we are running the half marathon (which we will be)--no chance of a bus getting lost. 😳

I am looking at 1 bedroom accommodations, which rules out Poly and we are already doing the GF for January weekend.

On the other hand, monorail aside, I like the Boardwalk and Beach Club areas. We have APs and we love walking to EPCOT. I had the BC booked but then moved us because Storm Along Bay will be closed for refurb. My initial booking was at RIV. 🫨

Does anybody here want to volunteer to tell me where to just book already? 🤣🤣🤣
I wish we had enough points for a 1 bedroom! We're staying at Riviera, but split time between a standard and preferred studio because we joined DVC at the end of June and standards were already booked solid for part of our dates.

I wonder if Poly Tower rooms will open for points bookings before then...and not be fully nabbed by Poly owners, that is.

I love BW, but my parents sold their DVC 10 years ago :( It's out of my budget but I'm going to resort hop after the half. I need to keep walking to keep the soreness from getting too bad, and I don't want to have to rush to get to a park.

😳 😳 😳 😳 😳 Yikes, I did not realize this.

...typing furiously as I quickly move my reservation to the BW.....🤣

LOL, in all seriousness, I feel like I cannot go wrong with any of them but I really do love the quick access to the World Showcase so I think BW wins for this time around. 💜:-)

Yes, agreed! Would love to try the new Poly Tower but didn't think there would be anything open once the owners book first.

I personally like staying closer to Epcot during race weekends because that's where I end up most often! Plus I like entering from the international gateway. I like meeting people for lunch/dinner there and then I'd much rather enter from the IG side. But if you want to pop into MK every day, then it totally makes sense to stay there. I rarely make it to MK more than one time per race weekend so it wouldn't make sense for me to stay at a MK resort!

Yes, this makes sense! Since I am already doing MK resort for January race weekend, it would be nice to switch it up for Princess. :-)

See? This board is the best! Helping me to decide!!! 🤣 Thanks everyone. 💜

While out on a run yesterday, I thought it would be nice to do a girls RunDisney trip for Princess. I got home and messaged my friend, and am just waiting to hear what she thinks.

It’ll have to be a short Fri-Mon trip, since I’m running very low on vacation days and DVC points. I was pleasantly surprised by DVC availability.

I'm doing something similar. Me and two girl friends are booking a suite at AoA. I'm really excited to do a rD weekend with friends 🥰

I'm still debating if I should sign up for the 5k... I don't have that much PTO and the 5k is the runDisney distance I like the least...

I'm skipping the 5K until they figure out that they need to add more characters.

Yeah, that was exactly my thought process. All runDisney races are fun, but I'm a bit over those 45min+ lines...
I've gone over options in my head. They need to utilize Germany to have Snow White or Rapunzel. I feel Rapunzel for sure would be really popular. Maybe even put Jane in Africa with Kala or Terk. I really liked how they brought out more than just the Princesses this year, and there are many options to chose from.

Since today is the first day of registration for Club runDisney members, is it possible someone will (or can) post preliminary photos of the merchandise? :)
