Hi, all!

I am wondering how early the roads around MK & Epcot are closed for this marathon? If the first one begins on 2/23, will the roads be closed the night before? And which roads are closed (World Drive?)? If so, I'm not sure the best way to get to/from the TTC to Windsor Hills.

Not actually sure where to find road closure info, but the way up to MK (and back) will be one side only (therefore, I think, one lane per direction). Leave early. BUT runners are out of MK before the park opens. It's mainly epcot that's impacted.

From the rundisney Princess page..."For Guests driving to Epcot® on Saturday and Sunday, EXPECT SIGNIFICANT DELAYS! Roads begin to close as early as 11:00 p.m. on the evenings before the Half Marathon."

expo is on the 23rd (no impact), 5k is on the 24th (should barely impact you at all), 10K is on the 25th (little impact), and Half is on the 26th.

Great, thanks for the info! :)

I am not sure about the exact route of the marathon but I can tell you quietest way to get from Disney World to the Windsor Hills Resort. My guests have always called it "Richie's secret" but it really isn't a secret as I am always more than happy to share it. Simply drive from anywhere at Disney World towards the Animal Kingdom. When you see the parking lot on your right then follow signs for the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Rather than going to the lodge itself continue on that road to "Sherberth Road." Make a left turn and take that road all the way back to Route 192 (Irlo Bronson Highway). Best route even during busy weeks like the 4th of July or Christmas. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip! I knew someone who stayed at Silver Lake Resort which is on Sherberth Rd but I figured it would add on more time to the commute than was worth it, rather than just taking 192 to World Drive. I'll definitely keep this in mind now!
