Princess Gabby's First Trip to her "Happy Place" (new installment 10/1/10 pg 5)

Hi Everyone!! It has been 53 days since our great trip and I decided if I am going to write a TR then I better get started becuase things are already hazy!!LOL
I will admit that I am a bit intimidated by some of the TR because they are so full of witty banter and great stories, but I don't think mine will be like that..
Also please bear with me, some days I took great notes, other days...not so much!

Ok so our trip was 8 days and 7 nights and we we stayed at Disney Old Key West in a 2 bedroom(thanks to my parents who traded in their timeshares for the room)

There was some back and forth about who was going but in the end it wound up being 7 of us..

Me-Netta 33 (a IT specialist for the Feds,Disney Nut, AVON Rep, sometimes shy but very loyal and fun friend)
DD-Gabby 5.5(when we go on the trip) a high energy, giggly, super sweet, smart, fun and princess loving little girl
DH-Treovor 33(the week before the trip)(Verizon Tech crazy, silly, Mary Poppins Loving, willing to put up with anything so his two girls will have fun.

My Dad -Likes to stay in the parks ALLLL DAY!!
My Mom -was not really a park person and really did not plan on going to any parks but is now a Convert and planning a trip back for us in the next couple of years!!
My Nephew 1(Mikyle) 7 almost 8 on the trip High energy!!! Loves Rides
My Nephew 2(spencer) almost 5 on the trip HIGH HIGH energy!!LOL

I had been to Disney a few times before with my parents, the last time being in 94. I had never been with them as an adult and had never stayed on property so I was a bit nervous on how things would work out with such a dynamic....

I did a whole PTR so I won't bore you with everything but I will do a little background..
This trip was a suprise to my daughter and I surprised her about 13 days before the trip..here is an excerpt from that:

So we did the trip reveal to Gabby this weekend. We had been at the mall all day because we went to an early movie and looked for trip clothes for she and her dad.

When we came home there was a note tapped to the door saying a package had been left on the back porch. We went to get it and she saw it was red box and was excited that it was for her..
When she opend the box a princess balloon came out with an enevelope attached. She read the invite and I don't really think it was clicking to what it was saying...so I explained it a bit to her..then it clicked..
I think she was a bit tired so I didn't get the whole scream and jumping that I was expecting, I admit I was a bit disapointed...

She went through the box and looked through all the things that were in there and then it started to sink in...
She kept saying "Mommy you did all this for me Mommy you made this for me" " This is so nice" " Soo this is what you have been doing in the office, I thoughtyou were doing work" "Thank you mommy"

She went through all of the things in box and sat and just looked through her autograph book looking at all the charachters, saying how nice it was..running to show her dad and me..

That touched me and made up for any screaming and jumping that was not made..I knew she was excited and more importantly appreciated when I had done...

We went to my Aunts house later and she told everyone she was going to Disney and told them about the stuff I made..

Before she went to sleep, she said "we go to disney in 13 days right?(I made her a countdown calendar)I am so excited"

That made me very happy

Also with the help of the Creative boards on here I made T-shirts and autograph books..Here are a few pics
I went crazy and spent most of yesterday making shirts..lol Gabby did not want a HS shirt..she wanted a Jasmin shirt and DH is not going to be there for our HS day that is why I only have one..lol I forgot to do an up close of the "A dream is a wish shirt" but it has bling on it too.. That shirt is special because I sing that to Gabby everynight and she acts like she can't go to sleep if I don't sing it..she calls it "The Goodnight song"

I hang around on the creative boards over on DIS .. I got a couple of invites that I edited for the kids. I am going to put them out at night and they will get them in the AM. The boys are only going to one with us as of now because the other 2 are princesses so my Mom vetoed them lol.

I made the kids Welcome to Disney Letters- and I am going to put their GCs in there. I also made G an Invite to Disney and I am going to use that when I tell her about the trip

I had to move my pictures into a new photobucket because I was over the limit so I am going to start this now before I leave work and finish it later, hopefully the pics will be finished uploading..I also need to get my dad's memory card and I have a disposable that I need to drop off...lol

So the morning finally comes and I get up first and jump in the shower, I double check that we have everything and I pack my body wash, then I wake up Gabby and get her washed and then wake up T(he worked last night so I let him get extra sleep). Our plane was scheduled to leave at 9:40 so we were hoping to leave around 7 to get to the airport lot we were parkinat at by 730 and in the auctual airport by 8. Now normally my dad is a real stickler for what time you need to be at the airport so I was rushing my family. We all go dressed and the car packed and I called my parents to find out if they were ready...they said almost...

So we wait and wait..then we get in the car and wait some more, my sister pulls up with the boys and no parents. FINALLY and 735 they show up!! The reason why we were waiting is because Gabby and I were on the Plane confirmation with my parents because at first it was only us 4 going(read the PTR for all the back and forth)

so we finally get on our way and get to the lot and as soon as we are out of our cars the shuttle is there is pick us up. Now the shuttle already has a bunch of people but they crammed us in there..we were so smooshed..Spencer was sitting on my mom's lap and Gabby's on mine and we were bouncing all over. The kids thought it was lots of fun..us, well not so much!!
The people on the shuttle were nice though and made nice compliments on our shirts.

We got to the airport and through security with no problems.. I don't know if you have ever been to BWI but it is huge!!lol

We were not at the gate long before we boarded. My dad and Trevor are tall guys so they had exit row seats.. I sat with Gabby and the boys sat with my mom.

We had a really great stewardess who kept the kids engaged so that was fun..they boys were a bit busy and I was glad I was not on their side!!LOL
Gabby did great!EXCEPT she spilled her whole cup of water on my lap!!!

The fight was quick 2 hours and soon we were in FL!!

Like I said before, I love all of your creative stuff you did. You are super d' duper talented my friend.

What was up with your parents running behind? Didn't they know that you wanted to get to the airport early and head out to Disney? (Not like your flight would have left early but you know what I mean.)

Oh my word, I love Gabby's silver hightops. They are so cute. Lacey used to wear all those cutsie clothes when she was younger.

I am sure that you were the only one that thought the boys were a little on the wild side. Everybody else probably didn't even notice. Who could blame them anyway....they were off to see Mickey!

Lisa I have NO idea what they were doing but I was getting antsy and super annoyed!! Espcially since Trevor kept saying.I could still be sleeping..over and over!!LOL
I am sure I am the only one who thought they were busy!! Believe me if Gabby had not been over there by herself and rather with them..she would have been all up in the mix!!

Gabby loves anything sparkly!!These are her favorite shoes and even though I brought her a new pair of named brand sneakers(kSwiss) to wear at the parks she wore these most of the time.. she said the other ones hurt her feet..They were broken in but I think the silver ones had more "give"..it is time to retire those sneakers and she is not happy!!

Well the trip there was prenty uneventfull and after finding our way to our bags and then finding the ME bus stop we were off.. You know they really should have better sinage!!!

We got off the bus and my mom and I went to check in because I had put in the room requests. Our room was not ready but they told me that one of my requests was granted and that they would send me a text message when it was ready. They told us the general area that our room would be in.

So we went out of the check in space and walked around the back and picked up something to eat from Good's to go. I can't remember the exact costs but it was a little pricey.. Gabby and I had the chicken fingers and Trevor had the burger..

After that we kinda wandered around for a bit. We decided to take the kids swimming near where our room would be to wait for our room to be ready. As soon as we got out to the bus stop we felt trickles of rain, then it started getting heavy. But the time we walked back into the bldg., it was coming down really hard!!!
The kids and my dad went over to watch cartoons and Trevor, my mom and I sat on the couches, Trevor and my mom napped but I was too excited!!

Finally at 3:45 we got the text that the room was ready(yes I still have it on my phone.. I have no idea why!!LOL)
Our assigned room ws 4123 in the Turtle Pond section... So they loaded all of us and our luggage up on one of those carts and took us to the room.

We had a GREAT spot..about a 30/60 second walk to the bus stop and right next to the pool(around some bushes).

We had a quick discussion to decide who got what room. and it was decided that we would get the Master bedroom so that the boys could have a bed in the room with my parents!!WHOOOO HOOOO!!!

I thought I took some of the two bedrooms but I don't see them.
The master had a King bed, 2 night stands, a recliner and an Armoire(sp?) with the TV and drawers..it also had a door to the back patio.

The second bedroom had 2 queens a small table and 2 chairs, and Armoire and a walk in closet and a dedicated bathroom.

After we looked around a bit and unpacked a bit, it was decided that my Mom and I would catch a cab to Walmart to get some groceries for the room.
While we did that, they guys would take the kids swiming.

All caught up! The shirts turned out so great! Too bad you didn't get any pictures of the shirts standing up, but that bus picture is really cute!

You can see how excited the kids are on the ME bus...it's written all over their faces!

Your room is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! You are so lucky!

Gabby looks so cute in her swimsuit! I love that she's posing. What a little doll she is!

I can not wait to hear more! Again, I'm SO excited you're writing a TR!!!!

What? How in the world did they nap when they were in Disney? Wait, I shouldn't even say that....you know what John does every chance he gets.

I don't blame you for saving the "rooms ready" text on your phone. It's not every day that you get a text from Walt Disney World.
