we will not be at any outlet or anything, I was just wondering how much they charge for them in the parks. (I am expecting an arm & a leg...) Anyone seen the price lately?
I would strongly suggest either going through www.disneyshopping.com or looking on Ebay. Right now the deluxe dresses on Disneyshopping are on clearance for $39 and $49 which is still cheaper than the $65 basic dresses we saw at WDW in November, plus they will be nicer dresses. Enjoy your little princess! My 3.5 year old DD absolutely loved being a princess while we were at Disney!
Depending on how much money you actually want to save, they have all sorts of Disney princess dresses at Walmart. Maybe Target too or someplace like that. Walmart is just about the only store in our town, so that's all I know. Granted, the quality is much different. We have a Walmart Cinderella dress and a Disney Store Minnie dress from ebay. The Minnie dress is much better quality. If you're using it for a something special though, you don't really need it to last a long time. The Cinderella dress is well-used (and looks it) but now my girls just use it for dress-up.
When I bought the Minnie dress, it came with ears and shoes for about $30. It was around Halloween time, so there were a lot of dresses available online.
Thanks for all your help. Now I know how much to expect. The idea was that it would be her DL memory thing. There is just something about buying the dress there as opposed to walmart before we go. You know the "once in a lifetime purchase" She is sooo looking forward to it. Have they any other "Princess shoppe" now that the bibbity bobbity boutique has taken over the old one? Or is my best bet WOD in DTD?
We bought my DD a princess dress at the Princess Fantasy Fair in DL when she was just about 3yo. It was about $65. Beautiful dress and was sad when she outgrew it a year later. We've bought about 4 or 5 more princess dresses for that total cost over the last few years. Usually during sales at toy stores in the mall. She didn't love those any less, I think the original purchase was more for me
One thought is to buy her less expensive dresses before hand, but don't give them to her until you are at the park (maybe in the morning at your hotel and say tinkerbell left it for her) She'll never know the difference!
