...can anyone tell me where they find nice dress-up princess dresses for the little ones that aren't too expensive.

We are doing the my princes tea party (which is already breaking the bank) and all the little girls dress up in their finest. My DD has a few dress-up dresses, but they are the cheap $20 dresses that have just a velcro patch in the back. Not anything that I'd let her wear around with no street clothes underneath if we were going out. Not to mention the quality is so poor that the seams are ripped, the hems are torn/frayed, etc.

Any ideas?????

hugs -

There always seems to be an ample selection on ebay. Also, if you are going in summer when it is so HOT, maybe princess t's and shorts (or a ballet tutu!) or a princess sundress could do it. Everyone does seem to dress up, but none of those dresses look very comfortable! There was a Snow White dress on sale at disneyshopping.com also. Good luck and please post what you find!

first off, you will love this tea. I thought about cancelling and saving the $$$ up until the 48 hr cut off. BUT I am so glad I didn't. I cried the entire time, it was so precious. Very well done and the highlight of the trip. My DD is an Aurora fanatic so we wore an Aurora dress. We went at Xmas so I stocked up after Halloween, and I don't knwo when you are going. Not everyone was in Aurora so pick something your DD likes and go to Walmart/Target. Or...you could wait and shop in the parks!

YOU WON'T REGRET THE TEA!!!!

I ordered my DD7 a dress from http://www.dressupclothesforkids.com. We got the Cinderella dress and my daughter loves it. The fabric is a bit thinner, IMO, than the Disney dresses but these dresses are so much softer and there is nothing itchy on them which is a big issue with my daughter. And they are a good price.:thumbsup2

These dresses are soft and comfortable- not scratchy and itchy like the ones Disney sells. I cant get my DD to wear the Disney ones. We ordered Christmas Belle, Cinderella and Rapunzel. I got the 3 dress special, not sure if that is still going on, but probably is. I would highly recommend this company. The quality is wonderful.

I've seen them in the toy dept at Target. Reasonable prices too, $20 or so.

You should be able to do a search on disneyshopping.com and they'll show up. You can't find them in the outlet menus, but search for "cinderella costume" or whichever princess you want, and they'll show up that way. ;)

check wal mart...I just got an Aurora dress clearanced for $11 2 days ago...if you have several wal marts in your area check around...my usual store did not have them but i happened on them by chance while at the store near my work

I bought my DD one for her upcoming birthday party and I was so surprised at how silky soft it is. No zippers, velcro or other itchy things.

It is very light weight too!

I just got the red Belle dress from this seller: http://stores.ebay.com/My-Dress-Up-Trunk_W0QQssPageNameZl4QQtZkm

DD has worn it every day since it arrived. It is well-made, SOFT, and just too cute! I wish I'd known about this place earlier, since DD is 8 and outgrowing the princess thing. :( She'll be wearing this one to the P&P Party in March. princess:

Thanks for this advice. I just looked at their ebay store and their prices seem reasonable. The problem I have with the Disney Store dresses are they are so scratchy and icky. My DD(also a redhead) has sensitive skin too and really wants a Cinderella dress. If I can sell enough stuff on ebay to build up my paypal account I might splurge and buy one of the dress-up packages with several styles. She would LOVE that as a b-day gift.

See my post above. She also has a non-Ebay online store, and you can purchase there without Paypal. :thumbsup2
