princess dresses - Disney Store vs Disneyland

Does anyone know if there is a way to get one of the park dresses now that I am home? My DD really wanted the Ariel dress sold in the parks and I didn't get it for her, now I am kicking myself and want to have it for her.

Sometimes Disney Store has park merchandise on their online store, but your best bet will be eBay.

Call Disneyland Delivears. You can order anything you want from the parks.

My daughter likes the longer dresses. I havent seen them sell them at the park. I'm thinking they dont want little girls tripping on all the steps and curbs that are around.

The sizes for ordering are so odd. Straight from Disney seems true to size, online one was big, and from the store was way too small!

She wears a size 6, almost 7 so getting a size to fit her nicely is a challenge since she is on the cusp of what they offer (4-6x or 7/8). I hate having to try stuff on. ugh.

I also put a little tagless hanes pink or white singlet underneath almost all of them. It's a guard against the tag remnants as well.
I feel better too since I can't wash most of them and who knows what kind of stuff is on them straight from the factory in China!
I didn't think about the tripping as the reason for the shorter dresses. That makes so much sense! We use tag t-shirts too. My daughter won't put the dresses on without one.

I think you can only order certain items, but I'm not positive.

The only thing they won't ship are food items (ie candy)....
That's so good to know. I don't know why I thought it was limited.

If you contact Merchandise Guest Services: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5:30 pm Eastern at 877-560-6477 (toll free), or email (sorry, not enough posts to write it properly) Merchandise.Guest.Services@ DisneyParks dot com and describe the dress, where you saw it, color, price, size, etc. they should be able to find it in their database so you can order from them. Might be a bit more expensive due to shipping. I got this info from the AllEars weekly newsletter of Feb 5, and they talk more about WDW happenings than DL, but if nothing else it may be a start.

Does anyone know firsthand if there a big difference between the princess dresses that can be bought at one of the local Disney Stores compared to what you can find inside the park? Selection-, quality-, or cost-wise?

Thanks :)

As mentioned several times, they are more expensive in the parks. In the way they look, I almost always prefer the Disney Store dresses over the park dresses, they just look of better quality to me.

Right now, all costumes at Disney Store are 25% off, makes MOST of the dresses $33 and some change. Currently available from TDS: pink Minnie Mouse, Rapunzel, wedding Rapunzel, Belle, Merida, Ariel, Aurora, Jasmine, Snow White, Cinderella, wedding Cinderella, and Tinkerbell. Think I remembered them all. Basically, there is no Mulan, Tiana, or Pocahontas at the moment.

I'm on the hunt for mulan eBay prices are crazy and the ones from china are cheep heavy material and dd will be way to hot if any one has one size 7/8 or see them please please let me know!

I agree that the park dresses are much nicer (edpecially Tianas, gorgeous!) but the price tag is too high for me. I get cheaper ones from target, and my daughter doesn't know the difference. She dresses up frequently and at $15-$20 each I'm not scared to pop them in the washer

When do you need it by?

We just gpt back from a quick trip. the last couple of days was very hot and my 3 and 1 year old wore their online shorter Disney dresses this time. The beautiful ones we have from the parks would have been to hot this time. We will wear them in November. My girls were comfortable and wore them all day. We love both but we choose based on the weather.

What about princess Anna dresses? My dd saw the promo pics for Frozen and wants to dress up like her!

Has anyone heard about Merida dresses? I haven't seen anything for her yet?

Ok, I apologize I did see the Merida dress in the Disney Store but didn't recognize it as hers. It doesn't look like I thought it would. Have any of you seen the park ones are they any better? Thanks

The park ones are really beautiful. I don't have a picture, but they are a great dark blue/green material. There's a picture in this blog: http://www.easywdw.com/uncategorized/spring-break-begins-characterpalooza-moves-buffalo-chicken-nuggets-a-couple-new-dresses-hollywood-studios-31013/

The "new" Merida dress in this blog looks almost the same as last years costumes from the Disney Stores. Right now, the stores only have their spring line, so it is just Meridas game dress (the light blue). Last Fall, the stores had both. Wouldn't be surprised if the darker was offered this fall.

I think Disney Store costumes and Disney Parks costumes are similar in quality *other stores - Target, Walmart... are not* My Parks costume lady is fantastsic ~ *check out this* ebay seller. She has the same dresses available at the Disney Parks, her prices however are much lower, not sure how she does it but I don't mind at all.

Also ~ if she doesn't have what you're looking for *size/princess* send her a eBay message, I purchased several items last year for DD, completely off eBay. She's also listed what I was looking for and I used the Buy It Now option.
