I've read a lot about little girls wearing princess dresses to the parks, and I'd like to have one for our Princess character meals, but I really don't want to spend a ton of money (on top of the 2 tons of money I've already spend on this vacation!!) Does anyone have any tips on finding cute dresses for bargain prices?

Try your local Wal-Mart and Target stores, they've been clearing a bunch out from Christmas. Even at the regular prices of about $20 it's a real bargain over the parks. Clearance prices I've seen have been between $12 and $15.

I don't know how old or what size you daughter is but I got a cute little dress at Wal-Mart the other night for $10 that is a little spaghetti strap tank dress that has a tulle over skirt and there is a little white t-shirt under it. It has Cinderella on it. They had a Minnie Mouse one as well.

Hope that helps!

Thanks - I need to go to Walmart (for like the gazillionth time for this trip) anyway so I'll take a look. I'm definately NOT buying a dress at the park! She's only 4 and I've spent enough already!

I've heard people say they've found princess nightgowns that don't really look like nightgowns. Anybody seen something like that?

I also suggest checking out WalMart or Target. They sell them in the toys section for a reasonable price. Or if you're crafty you can always make one. You can get the pattern at Jo Ann's or WalMart fairly cheap. It's by Simplicity.

I've seen them at Target and WalMart, or check Ebay for a Disney Store Halloween costume if you're willing to pay a bit more. My dd has a very pretty fancy dress from her Christmas ballet that she'll probably wear to CRT. I just have to make her a Birthday Girl sash to go over it.

As for the nightgowns that look like dresses, check out Avon. They have alot of Disney Princess stuff pretty cheaply and hold up well.

eBay!

Did a search and found this one (2t-4t)
http://cgi.ebay.com/DISNEY-PRINCESS...466294010QQcategoryZ15635QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem (throw away the shoes! or at least don't let DD see them until AFTER you get home from Disney! nightmare for her - and you - if she wears them in the park!!)

and this one (4-6)

many more too - I did an eBay search for Princess Dress - lots of prom/formal dresses came up too, but these were just on the first of 9 pages!

(I do not know any of these sellers - just listing the first ones I saw from the search)

ETA - just saw this wig set at a great price too...might be too hot for your DD, but it sure looks fun! http://cgi.ebay.com/LILLIAN-VERNON-...ryZ80914QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

We bought my daughter a reasonably priced Cinderella dress for Christmas at ToysRUs. I bought her a Belle dress at Wal Mart but the tulle is right up against her legs and she says it is itchy.

We bought our princess dress for dd at Amazon.com, it was $20. A good deal, and she still wears it for fun around the house. She wore her sneakers with the dress, and we got her a wand at the Dollar Store. She looked cute..was extra special for her..and only cost an extra $21 dollars.

I just ordered from the Disney shopping website. They had a set of four dresses with shoes and a bag and it was only $34.00. Figured that way she could have a dress to wear to Princesses on Ice and a different one for the character breakfast at WDW.

We are doing the Princess Tea. It is with Aurora so I had been contemplating a new Aurora costume. My dd told me the other day how much she liked her cinderella dress and the ones I was looking at on the net because - from what she could tell in the pics anyway - they dont have that awful scratchy stuff. SO at Walmart the other day I found a Pink long sleeve (we are going March 2) dress kind of a stretchy material bodice and sleeves then a double layered satiny skirt with a ribbon and some thule inbetween the layers (so it shouldnt scratch) for WOW $7. This was my starter. But I needed to make it more aurora. So while I would like to say I got a deal, I just bought full price ($6) an Aurora Crown from the toy dept. I have found that sometimes it is hard to find the right princess so I didnt want to pass it up. Then later at toys r us (ours is closing) I found an aurora purse with neclace and earings for $4. I'm looking for some special slipper type shoes. Picked up some today for $7 at walmart but they dont fit. We already have an aurora wand. so if they had I would have had her dressed head to toe with a purse for $20. The Walmart/Target cosumes are too small for my dd. Well they are tight and scratchy anyway. Last spring we saw some of those type dresses at KB toys and Clairs.

I also wanted to add that last year we did the same thing. Her Cinderella dress was a VERY VERY pretty dress that we managed to pick up at a resale shop for $15. It was a very fancy dress but the sizing was odd. My barely 6 year old who wore maybe a 6 atleast close to fit this size 10 dress. ANyway We got the crown already had the wand and picked up a little pair of soft/comfy lacey mary jane style light blue (perfect lol) shoe at walmart for $5. Totalled less than $30. She has been very happy with her 'Original' costumes.
