I will be taking my 2 year old daughter for her first Disney World Trip in August. We are in search of a princess dress for her to wear= preferably Cinderella as we are having dinner with Cinderella. However, my daughter is tiny and all of the dresses I can find are size 2/3 or 2-4 and will be way too long. Any tips on where to find a size 18-24 mth dress? Is there a better selection in DW than at the Disney Store? The disney store has a limited amount until halloween I guess. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want her to feel left out....

Check out the disboutiquers thread. We are a bunch of people who love to sew custom outfits for our kids for our trips. A lot of us sew and sell too. You will definitely find something you like there!

Have you looked in Target?

I have a Snow White dress that my dd wore when she was 18 months. I want to say it was a size 2 & she was maybe 18 lbs soaking wet at that point of her life.

I know that came from the Disney Store.

I see you are from CT too, like me. We are also going in August.

BTW, I brought a dress for my oldest when we ate at the Castle & she never wore it. She wore shorts & a tank top (she was 4 then).

Yes! Check halloween costume stores online. They all sell baby sizes in princess dresses. I've seen cinderella, minnie, belle, and snow white. Like halloweenmart.com or costumecraze.com.

halloween costumes will most likely be out in a few weeks. I know at the Disney store they arrive end of july. they usually do carry some infant sized costumes too.

Check out Ebay too. We went last year and got my 2 year old a Snow White dress from Toys R Us. It was sized 4 but I would say it fit more like a 2 since it fit my dd perfectly and that was the size she was wearing last year. Also, the Disney Store will carry the smaller sizes when their Halloween costumes come out.

My DD is a teeny tiny girl too! :) She was a solid 18 months and on the shorter size. I bought the XXS and used clear rubber bands to make little bows in the back. The whole back of the dress is elastic so you have tons of room to grow. I even bought my oldest the 7/8 and did the same. I wanted the girls to get good use out of the dresses.

Here is a pic. Oh and it was crazy cold and windy!!!! Sort of a freak cold day. They have very windblown hair. I was not happy! :rotfl: If it is in your budget I would go for the WDW dress. The quality is excellent and it will last way longer than the Target dress. I do have to warn you the glass slippers give nasty blister. I would wear tights, peds or bring other shoes to change into!

I found the best size selection at Disney Store online (they are always running specials). I bought a Belle dress for my 2 1/2 year old which she wore all the time at home. The day we went to CRT for breakfast, she refused to wear it. (I don't like-a this). I brought it in the double stroller 'just in case' she changed her mind... she didn't, but we propped it in the other stroller seat and had more than one CM ask what happened to the princess? We started joking around that it was our invisible daughter.

I also have a tiny DD she is 3 and wears a 12m shorts, but her dresses are finally 2t - except for Disney costumes - 18-24 months works best for her still - I am sooooo hoping for a growth spurt soon - I found a 1t "cindy" dress a TaRGET a couple years ago when she was 1 - she still wears it even though it is a little short. DD#3 will probably have that one fo rthis trip (she will be 9 months but is bigger than either of her sisters at that age.)
sory to get OT, Target has infant sizes but Disney store was the best bet for us - I will not buy them down in WDW they are just too expensive. plus I usually have a coupon if I use my Disney Visa.

Something else to think about:

It's really cute for the little ones to wear those darling dresses for a character meal, but it's good to take a change of clothes for them (especially in the summer months). They just get so hot underneath all that fluff.
