My DD(4) wants a princess computer for Christmas this year. Is there anything out there like that? Don't really want to invest in a computer until she gets into the school system and I know what they are promoting (Apple or PC). I was thinking if I can't find something that is a toy princess computer then maybe getting a leapster or Pixter in pink, but not sure which is better?

Suggestions?

My girls fight over the pink dISNEY Princess computer they have, its not a real computer, though looks exactly like the real thing, it plays games, & educational activities like alphabet, spelling, numbers, math , I think its made by Leap Frog.

My DD would love something like this, where did you get this from??????

they have it at toys r us! it looks like a lap top! my DD is only 20 months and she loves it!! she likes that it looks like my computer! and i love that she will use it for years to come!!

Just as an FYI--the LeapFrog princess laptop that a couple previous posters listed is an older model--that may not matter to anyone, but it could affect its' availability. They had it in Toys R US at least 2 or 3 years ago when I considered it for my then 2.5 y.o. The newest Princess laptop that is out is one that another posted provided a link to which is produced by V-Tech. It is the Disney Princess Magic Wand Laptop. It sells for $39.99 on KB or Etoys - right now with free shipping. I think Target has it also for $34.99 but no free shipping. I got one (of the new ones) for my 3 y.o., but passed on it for the 5 y.o. I think my 3 y.o. can grow with it while my older daughter can use her leapster and games on that instead.

My DD 4 has a pink Barbie ballerina toy computer we bought at Toys ´r´Us. It has some educational programmes as mentioned in the above post, such as spelling, numbers etc. She loves it and it is the one toy her friends always fight over :)

What do you think of this V-Tech and what can it do?

I only ordered it yesterday so I have not seen it in person. I have looked for it in stores, but have not been able to find it yet except online--and with the free shipping from KB toys I decided to get it that way.

Now to your question. Both my daughters always ask to "try" the laptop toys when we stop into Target or whatever for shopping. There is currently a 12 Dancing Princesses mini-laptop at Target that they both like playing with, but the screen is tiny and there are fewer games. That one is only $20 however. From what I've read and the pictures I've seen, this VTech one has a "glass slipper" mouse and a "magic wand" that you can use on the screen for selecting certain things. The screen looks to be significantly larger than the barbie laptop I mentioned. The games seem varied, from spelling to recognizing letters and numbers and basic math. While I am sure both my daughters will enjoy playing with it, I decided only to get one for my 3 yo because my 5 yo has a leapster and that toy seems better for a child to "grow" with. I do think that my 3 yo will get enough use out of this laptop until she is old enough for a leapster of her own to justify the purchase. Also, my older daughter knows how to use the real computer at home to play games online like Playhouse Disney and Noggin, whereas the 3 yo mostly watches, so it will be nice for her to have her own "computer".
